While he didn't capture any gold during his WWF tenure, Jake was still a big star in the World Wrestling Federation while the company beneifited from a wrestling boom period. Jake's feuds with Rick Rude, Andre The Giant, Ted Dibiase and Macho Man Randy Savage were the stuff of legend. Jake Roberts has been credited as having one of the greatest minds in wrestling. He was creative, he could tell stories, and his mic work was phenomenal. Jake wanted to become a writer within the WWF, and when a spot on the creative team became available, he approached WWF owner Vince McMahon to see if he could get the job. When Vince refused, Jake decided to hold up the company for his release, and he worked his final WWF match (of this era) at WrestleMania 8. Jake would find his way to WCW where he immediately began feuding with Sting.
