So again it's up to the fans to present an alternative, and I have spent quite some time working with the best "unofficial" sources I could find to create what I feel is the closest I could get to a proper representation of the band's massive wall of sound. I am very happy with the results, and Pete in particular benefits from the work that has been done with his guitar sound. It is pure proto punk/noise/shoegaze/drone/metal/sludge/doom-heaven! I have also worked with the colours, trying to make them match the photos we've seen of the night, with a darker and more "blueish" appearance. My "unofficial" video source might not be the best available in terms of resolution, but it's a worthy alternative to the official version (currently available on blu-ray through Eagle Rock), and to my mind a "truer" view of the event. You be the judge. There is way too little footage of The Who at their peak, so what is out there is worth obsessing about.
