Now, for the majority of Canelo's career, he has followed the same path but in recent times, I feel that as he has etched his name on the pound-for-pound list and subsequently became the face of boxing, he has developed into somewhat of a diva. I think Canelo's dismissal to fight David Benavidez, who has been his WBC mandatory since 2022, raises a lot of questions about his willingness to fight the best at their best. In any case, this fight against Golovkin came at a time when both of these superior champions were seen to be taking on the ultimate challenges in their careers and giving us the best fights we could hope for. In my honest opinion for this fight, looking at the 4 criteria used to judge boxing; so Effective Aggression, Ring Generalship, Defence... and last but not least Hard and Clean Punches. I am swayed towards a Golovkin victory.
