Originated and developed by IABA Ulster Participation & Engagement Officer Louise McKenzie, this cross community programme included pupils in Years 8 & 9 from Newry High School and St. Mary’s High School, Newry Over four weeks, the students were given the opportunity to try new sports and build confidence while learning to be proud, and to do anything ‘Like a Girl’ The finale event, held in Newry Leisure Centre began with a confidence building workshop with Glow Girls by Gemma, followed by taster sessions delivered by Ulster Boxing, Athletics NI and Netball NI. The programme and today’s finale were supported by IABA High Performance boxers, double Olympian Michaela Walsh, and Kaci Rock, alongside Athletics NI Elite athlete, Rachel McCann.
