Dr. Robert Harper-Mangels, Associate Dean for Admissions and Financial Support, explains the ins and outs of applying for fellowships and grants as a graduate student. Topics covered include applying for grants in a funded program, where to find opportunities, creating a realistic budget, requesting letters of recommendation, and more. The presentation is followed by a Q&A session moderated by Dr. Stephen Pitti, Director of the Center for the Study of Race, Indigeneity, and Transnational Migration.

This panel discussion features three past recipients of the GSAS Graduate Mentor Award: Kelly Shue (Professor of Finance, Yale School of Management), Joanne Meyerowitz (Arthur Unobskey Professor of History and Professor of American Studies), and Gary Brudvig (Benjamin Silliman Professor of Chemistry). The conversation addresses approaches to mentorship, how to cultivate relationships with mentors, and how to improve communication and interpersonal interactions.
