You must note that the answer remains the same either we work with rows or the columns. Similarly, you can use many other examples to demonstrate the concept to the kid, to learn how to do arrays and equations the kid must have a clear understanding of rows and columns i-e the vertical lines are the columns and the horizontal lines are the rows.
