Depending on the ruler that you're using, you may have more tick marks in between each inch than just fourths. Those measure other fractions of an inch. For this video we are focused on fourths, so if you have multiple tick marks, make sure to locate the 1/2 inch mark and then the 1/4 and 3/4 inch marks.
