We look at the title's creation by Vince McMahon Snr, it's time in UWA, it's movement to Japan where it would be featured in Michinoku Pro and New Japan Pro Wrestling, Ultimo Dragon holding the belt along with the WCW Cruiserweight title at the same time, the belt being brought to the WWF in 1997 and thus beginning the WWE recognized time with the title, Taka Michinoku being the first champion recognized by WWE, the belt's quick downfall, X Pac holding the title along with the WCW Cruiserweight title after the WCW Invasion, and the deactivation of the title.
