Usually when a wrestler reaches the main event level, their days of challenging for mid card titles are over. After all, the purpose of those belts are by and large to elevate younger performers and get them to that higher tier. That said, there are occasions when a performer has reached the mountaintop and then ventured back down again, either to help build someone else up or to recover some of their own lost momentum. But what was the biggest examples of this happening in wrestling history? Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to be looking at today. And were better to start with than with arguably the greatest mid card title run from a main eventer, John Cena’s time as United States Champion in 2015.
