This book was well written and narrated. It was especially powerful being narrated by the author herself.She exposes the soft underbelly of what appears in the public eye to be a strong, both physically and emotionally, woman.It helps the ordinary of us to see that even those who appear strong on the outside deal with ups and downs, fears and doubts.Thanks for sharing your personal journey Abby and good luck on your next chapter of life.I'm confident you'll excel equally as well there as you did on the soccer field.

I am a huge women's soccer fan. I have always felt you needed to be a bit crazy to play soccer at this level for so many years but I never thought they had a confidence problem as well. Abby opens her whole self in this book. She shares that even at the height of her career she was still a scared 9 year old girl wanting the "that a girl" moment from her mom. This book is her journey on becoming who she is now and not the best soccer player in the world. So non-soccer fans would enjoy reading this as well. Being the soccer that I am, I would have liked hearing more about soccer Abby and her relationships with her teammates and coaches than her personal relationships.It was a long journey for Abby to become the woman she is now. I applauded her.

really struggled to get through. the first half she was nothing but negative about herself and although she started to become more likeable in the 2nd half of the book it still never painted a very good picture of her. I came away wishing I could see more of the Abby that people love and respect. also the book felt more like a list of events then a story. Sometimes events were spaced out by months or years without any indication and so it could be very hard to follow what was going on.and she never really developed other people in the book so it felt like everyone in her life was the same 2-dimensional person she mentioned in the previous paragraph/page/chapter.

I am not even a soccer fan but this book grabbed me. I started it yesterday and just finished it. This is the type of book that makes you sit in the driveway extra longer because you just can't stop. Her story is amazing but it's her delivery and the raw truths that she shares that really held me.

I rarely write reviews for books, but this one in particular hit me in a few spots that I've worked very hard to move past, stuff deep or ignore.I appreciate the honesty and straightforward approach of this book.Loving self is tough ... but we can do it.Thanks again, Abby. It means more than I can express.

I so appreciate listening g to Abby share her life, not just the joy but the messy real-ness. People are not simply the best selfie they can take - we are complicated and want happiness, and as simple as this should be, it is complicated.

Beautifully written and beautifully read.Such honesty and transparency.Wishing Abby a wonderful future in which she knows she is both loved and lovable.

I will await the time when the author rewrites this book with greater clarity as to how her use and reliance on alcohol affected every decision, action, emotion and denial she has written about. I believe then she'll have a 5 star book.

So raw and real. it took courage to write this. Thank you Abby for being so honest and open about your struggles. This book let's people know that everyone struggles but you can get past it. You can get back up.

Incredible woman, incredible book. I'm inspired by her honesty and humility. Every athlete should read this, male or female.
