When WCW created the Monday Nitro television show, Vince McMahon and the World Wrestling Federation quickly noticed that they had some real competition and the WWF would need to begin putting on more compelling episodes of their flagship Monday Night Raw program. The competition was fierce. WCW Nitro would broadcast live while WWF Raw presented unseen taped matches, and this would be a huge factor in the first months of the Monday Night War.
