The Road to WrestleMania 13 was filled with twists and turns, most of which centered around the WWF Championship. When Shawn Michaels "lost his smile" and forfeited the WWF title, the company seemed to change direction on an almost weekly basis; the main event of Mania seemed to be up in the air until the 11th hour. In the end, Sycho Sid defended the championship against The Undertaker in the main event, while Bret Hart vs Steve Austin was placed in the middle of the card. The Austin vs Hart match, quite simply, is a classic. Featuring what many call the greatest double-turn in the history of wrestling, the outcome of the match left Bret Hart getting boo'd while Austin was cheered like a hero. Also at Mania 13, Rocky Maivia defended the Intercontinental Championship against The Sultan, Hunter Hearst Helmsley had a grudge match with Goldust, and the Nation of Domination took on Ahmed Johnson & The Legion of Doom in a Chicago Street Fight.
