After dropping the WWF title to Yokozuna at WrestleMania IX and then after Hulk Hogan captured the championship minutes later, Bret felt that everything he had worked for was handed over to the Hulkster. At the next PPV, King of the Ring 1993, Bret decided that he would not only have the best three matches on the card, but three of the best matches of his entire career. Bret wanted to show the WWF, and Hulk Hogan, that times had changed and giving the belt back to the Hulkster was a mistake. Bret would wrestle Razor Ramon, Mr. Perfect and Bam Bam Bigelow on this evening while Hogan would lose the WWF title to Yokozuna. Bret delivered on what he promised, giving fans three very different wrestling matches and each encounter could easily be considered the match of the night. Hart would completely steal the show while Hogan looked like a tired and stale superstar of the past.
