Davey, however, was struggling around this time period. Bret Hart wrote in his book that it was he who carried the match from start to end. The British Bulldog completely forgot the match that he and Bret laid out in advance, so The Hitman had to make sure the main event went as planned by communicating each and every spot to Bulldog.
