Upon making his debut in 1993, it looked like the 123 Kid was destined to become another jobber or enhancement guy in the World Wrestling Federation but Waltman shocked the world when he pinned one of the company's biggest superstars, Razor Ramon. A rivalry with Ramon would result in both Kid and Razor eventually becoming friends both on-screen and off-screen, and this also expanded to friendships with Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash. Collectively, the group would become known as The Kliq. The 1-2-3 Kid's friends weren't what kept Waltman on TV though as The Kid was also an extremely proficient wrestler. In 1994, The 1-2-3 Kid vs Bret Hart on Raw would turn out to be one of the very best matches in Raw history. Even after this great performance though, Kid wasn't really moved up the cards but he always had a regular spot in WWF programming. After turning heel and feuding with Razor Ramon though, and when Razor Ramon left the WWF to join World Championship Wrestling, it seemed like there was nothing really left for the 123 Kid to do in the WWF.
