Bret Hart was extremely popular during the mid 90s in the WWF, however the rise of Stone Cold Steve Austin saw his popularity shift away. Bret, in storyline, wasn't very pleased that the fans were leaving him to cheer for the likes of Stone Cold and Shawn Michaels, Bret's other arch nemesis. Bret Hart decided to turn heel, and he looked at the members of his family to assist in his crusade against the WWF and the fans who turned their backs on him. The Hart Foundation was formed, featuring Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, Jim Neidhart and Brian Pillman being led by Bret "Hitman" Hart.
