It was reported that WCW Monday Nitro would continue airing on Monday nights while WWF Raw could potentially move to a different night. In order to test things out, a WCW match took place on Raw - Booker T vs Buff Bagwell - and the match was met was a negative crowd response. Buff Bagwell thought the match should've taken place the next week when Raw was in Atlanta, however other reports state that Buff Bagwell wasn't the easiest guy to get along with backstage and this match was always destined to fail. Bagwell also explained that he was limited in what he could do during the match due to orders received from Shane McMahon moments before entering the ring.
