Off-late Bollywood is churning out films set in small towns, exploring the culture, people and environment. Films like Dangal, Toilet-Ek Prem Katha, Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Sultan have cleverly touched the heartland of India with strong content which the masses can connect. Bareily Ki Barfi is yet another attempt to bring out a sweet and simple love story. Bareily Ki Barfi tells the story of care-free Bitti (Kriti Sanon) whose life changes after she reads about character in a book "Bareily Ki Barfi" who is similar to her in real life. Smitten by the author of the book, she takes help from local Press Owner(Ayuuhsman Khurrana) to track down the author. After directing the sparkling film, Nil Battey Sannata, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari divulges into a love story with a predictable ending. Bareily Ki Barfi might be remind you of 90's love-triangle films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam but the it is the performance by the entire star cast and hilarious dialogues which will keep you at bay. First half takes time to build up but once Rajkumar Rao enters the scene, there is not turning back. The supremely talented actor will bring down the house with his brilliant portray of Pritam. Screenplay does falter and editing could be better with few scenes trimmed from the reel. Art direction is nice while Cinematography manages to capture the essence of Bareily town. Kriti Sanon and Ayushman Khurrana does well in their respective roles while Pankay Tripathi as Bitti's father is superb. If you are looking for some good romantic films, Bareily Ki Barfi might be the right choice. Good 3/5

#BareillyKiBarfi is a simple delicacy which needs to be relished by family audiences. Excellent performances by the entire cast. Senior actors Bhargava n Tripathi, as the heroine's parents, r very natural. Sanon as Bitti, is endearing. She will ensure that u fall in love with her tomboyish actions. Khurrana, as the selfish n silent lover, is good. But it is Rajkummar Rao, who is in top form n deserves an extra star. The entire script is amusing n absorbing but, I personally, do not approve of the climax wherein the selfish guy gets the girl. Rating 4/5.
