I highly encourage people to see this film! It is truly wonderful! I believe that even though Christians are not being persecuted in the same way as Christians are in other parts of the world(Middle East for example), we are still being persecuted. This is very unfortunate. This film makes me want to ACT. See it!I strongly believe that you bring friends and family as well. Probably suitable for teen and up. I will be seeing again with my mom, aunt, uncle and 16 year old brother. Parts of it kind of scared me, but it was worth it. My friends loved it as well when I went to see it! Please, DO NOT MISS THIS MOVIE! I cannot wait to buy when it comes out on DVD! This film is very important for the youth to see as well. Bottom line- Go see this movie!

I hate to bad mouth this movie because somewhere underneath the stupidity and paranoia lies a meaningful cautionary tale and an interesting premise. Still, this thing is so bad and so nonsensical that it defeats its own purpose. It's just all levels of terrible no matter what the intent or how earnestly they try to present the perils of a big soulless government. The title and a few lines of the film imply Christian prosecution but that subject matter is basically ignored in favor of a crazed anti-government storyline. I can't even call it a plot line because there is no coherent plot or character development. On a side note, all I could think of watching Bruce Davison was that "Senator Kelly" has taken his mutant hating propaganda to the next level.

I thought the movie was well done and reflects the undercurrents that are negative to the founding principals America. Persecuted has all the elements of the fallen attributes of man. Provoking to get the viewers to have to choose the way, truth and ultimately the eternal disposition of their own souls. The viewers must choose, not to choose is a choice on where you stand on matters of eternity. I would highly recommend people going and keeping an Open mind and you will understand how our apathy is destroying America! The time to act is now! a great president once said "there is no left or right only up or down" . The tyranny in America is accelerating so fast this true movie could be considered a prophecy of things to come very soon. All parts was well acted.

I felt this movie was great. If you are NOT a Christian, the movie still portrays courage and the triumph of the human spirit to fight for what is right in a world where most people have already sold out. If you ARE a Christian, this movie can renew your faith. I know it did mine. I also liked the political background setting this movie has and how it wakes you up to how our political system is run, with all of its back room dealings. Will the individual stand up for the right to choose to live his life on his own terms or will he do as he is told? What are the consequences and the rewards for following your heart and doing or not doing the right things. This is priceless. I liked many of the actors in this film. Go and see it!

It's hard to see such a great bashing of this movie and calling it unrealistic. I don't know if people are blind or if they choose only to see what they want. It is more than obvious that conservatives are being persecuted in the good old U.S. of A and the group that fits that mold more than any are Christians. It's not a wild theory it's just a fact. Christians are being tied in with terrorists by the government. This is supported by several public documents. This would not seem far-fetched if you would research and find the stories of things that have happened in this country against Christians and other conservative groups and not years ago but right here now on our soil. The fact is the majority want to shut us up because we do not go along with the moral decline in this country. We're considered hate-mongers, close-minded, stupid and a danger to the "freedom" of this country. Right now it's a story here and there that gets put low on the list of the media. Soon and very soon this persecution will become front page not to condemn it but to celebrate it. This movie is dead on point. The average American has no idea what's really going on in this country and what is already happening not even to mention what is capable from some people in power. Sure right now Christians are the easiest target so we're playing the guinea pigs while others are shouting bring it on but just you wait. It's just a matter of time until your freedoms are violated by the "elite" no matter what your background. This film needed to be made and I'm afraid one day we'll look back and see things all to familiar going on right before our eyes. Hollywood prophecies on a daily basis through movies and this is no different. I praise the team for taking such a daring step forward knowing that the persecution was going to come. It's just an indication you're moving in the right direction. Job well done.

Persecuted is a very apt title as watching this religious mumbo jumbo was persecutory! Everything is contrived, even the preachers name. Propaganda reigns supreme, the poor Christian right being marginalised by an increasingly diverse religious society. Right wing conspiracy theorists will love this but it is dreadful from start to finish, even good actors could not save this garbage.Religious freedom features heavily but only appears to support christians! Very slow moving film, plot flaws everywhere and cheap looking, defo looks like a made for TV movie and should be restricted to god channels. Save 90 minutes of your life and give this a miss!!!

Persecuted is the tale of a Christian televangelist (Luther, played brilliantly by Remar) under pressure by government officials to support legislation that would give the US Government oversight over all faiths in exchange for Federal funds. At the beginning, Luther is pressured by a key senator (Davison) to support the proposed legislation. Luther does not agree with the Federal curtailment of his freedom to speak of Christianity as the true faith, and of not supporting, through taxation, other faiths. When Luther rejects the senator's proposed legislation, he incurs the wrath of those seeing the legislation as a cure-all for worldwide religious unrest. A plot is then placed into motion to destroy Luther's reputation and credibility. Luther must struggle against influential government operatives to not only support his convictions, but to stay alive. Superb acting enhances a tight plot.

I think this film is well done, well acted and believable. The cast loses themselves in the roll and this is optimum for the viewer. The premise is also believable and I do not imagine it will be long before very similar agendas are in the works here in America. They already exist nearly worldwide. There is a place in our "film- going" pastime here in America for this type of film just as room is generously made for films which ridicule Christianity and Christ. Let us not be too dismissive lest we put on the hat of the persecutor and have to our credit many whom we have persecuted, by stifling their rights. In other words, if the film industry and it's conventional film critics are so afraid of a movie like this that they have to attempt to shut it down, send plants to previews to disrupt it and dismiss it in these sort of forums, well perhaps this movie is truer to present day life than we knew. I personally believe if you are for rights being kept in America, then let everyone keep theirs to produce, release and profit from this sort of film. If not, then the film is true and we are already doomed as a nation.
