فيلم جيد!
source: Skew
What a waste of time Some moron (probably someone related to the making of the film), rates this film highly on IMDb and states that it's better than "Paranormal Activity". That's an absolute joke! There is no point or reason to this film. The only "Skew" is the over-inflated rating that people on this site have given it. It steals an idea from the X-Files and a video game from 15 years ago and still can't make a worth while movie, utter garbage. The horror (if I can call it that) is awful, it's not scary well not unless you're scared by film makers getting away with really bad CGI. It's certainly not jumpy which I would have thought would be the main aim of a film of it's type. When will people please stop lazily comparing any old POV movie with "Paranormal Activity" when the movie isn't even fit to lace "paranormal Activities" boots! I cannot recommend strongly enough that you do not waste your time on this film, you wont get it back!
I really tried to like this film but it was so flawed it drove me nuts. If you were staying in a hotel and the manager was shot in the night would you really just go back to bed and sleep soundly with hardly a word about it? If you just found out from the police that a store you had just been to was now burnt to the ground and the clerk you were chatting with is dead would your reaction be 'I bought some gum and a drink'? Wouldn't you freak just a little bit? If you were asleep in a hotel room and your mate starts yelling there is someone in the room wouldn't you freak just a little bit? If your mate said to you that when he is filming people when their faces are skewed they die, would you really say well maybe mine isn't because you care about me? Really? This film is dull, unrealistic, badly directed and acted. Even the actors looked bored. I know its a film not real life but at least react with a bit of shock when people are dying all around you.
First of all I would strongly recommend you not to read any comments asking you to must watch this movie. I believed one of the review and really my time wasted up. Seriously this movie will give you no result, there is nothing special, poor acting, poor story, everything so boring that anyone would freak out what the hell is going on in this Movie. Looking at the poster of the movie, so much reviews and titles and awards, i don't know does people who award them have any standard choice. someone here even called this carp better than paranormal activity, but i would rather watch Paranormal Activity thrice than looking just a the single shot of it. i would strong recommend you, do not waste your time or money on this garbage.. it will surely disappoint you..
Well maybe because I was actually doing something else while "watching" it. It is impossible to watch this movie without any distraction. It is boring, not creepy, has no tension, no interesting characters, no innovative ideas, no interesting scenery, no interesting story. It is ridiculous, why did anybody shoot a movie with such a story? The whole script was certainly shorter than this review. Don't watch, and especially don't buy. Don't believe any other review, giving it more than 1 star, those are all from PR Agencies or alike. Oh and as I have to fill 10 lines for IMDb, I just wanted to add that I am sick of all those POV films lately, please dear producers, enforce something less worn-out.
I have been on a kick of watching found-footage horror films recently, and after watching what I thought was all I could find on Netflix, I happened to stumble upon this title. The picture was littered with rave reviews, which was enough to convince me that it was at least worth checking out. I enjoyed the first two Paranormal Activity movies (haven't seen the third yet), The Last Exorcism annoyed me, and I don't even know what to write about Grave Encounters. My biggest complaint with these types of movies is that there is too much that is similar - I realize that there is only so many ways you can go, but there's no need to have the lead character who wants the "documentary" to go on no matter what, a swinging chandelier, or someone getting dragged by an unseen force is every found-footage movie about the paranormal. Boy, was I glad that I watched Skew ... it avoided enough of those recurring elements that it could be considered - dare I say - creative. The basic plot revolves around three friends on a road trip. The main character is seemingly obsessed with using the video camera, a source of increasing annoyance to his two friends. Along the way, the main character begins to see strange things through the camera, and strange things begin to happen to people who are seen on camera. The tension builds and builds until you are assaulted with a mind-twisting ending that, in my opinion, can stack up against any other twist ending out there. The acting is much better than most of this genre, the "home movie" element feels very natural, and the few jump scares that are featured a more than enough to get your attention right away. I felt that some scenes dragged on a bit long, but it's not bad enough to truly annoy, and actually adds to the "home movie" feel. Usually, the use of a musical score and other scary movie tones used on post-production irritate me (if this is truly "found-footage," there wouldn't be any background music, would there?) But in this case, the sounds used at the end amplify the effect ten-fold. And the ending - WOW. There will be those that won't be able to figure it out, and I admit that I am one of them. But the movie was that good that I am looking forward to watching it again to figure it out. For fans of this genre, I highly recommend this movie, even if only to see something that is a little different. If you're not already a fan of the genre, this movie won't make you one. But that being said, this is one of the better movies I've seen the last couple of days, and I haven't been able to get it out of my head yet.
I first saw Skew at the Mississauga Film Festival. This is a psychological thriller/horror film that has found a new voice in its "found footage" sub-genre. Skew kept me wondering and waiting for more. The acting is good. The character of Eva is especially strong, haunting the audience with her wide eyes. The effects are subtle and work well in the grainy home video 4x3 ratio. Sometimes the scenes felt a little too long, but there were enough scares that I was compelled to see it again when I was in Manhattan for the Manhattan Film Festival. This second time I concentrated on the story and picked up on clever plot points that I missed or didn't seem to matter on my first viewing. Pay attention, this film is coming from a new direction that will side-swipe you.
Very interesting film...leaves you wanting more. I watched it 3 times and discovered more each time. This film requires you to do some thinking...which is why some reviewers likely rated it poorly as they simply couldn't "imagine" or "question" or think about what's going on here. A lot of reviews mention that this is a "Found Footage" film. It isn't... and makes me question if those that wrote the review actually watched the film. And if you've watched the movie from beginning to end, you will clearly figure that out. The producer/writer/director Seve Schelenz adds many interesting slants to this film and, although it may appear slow in the beginning, I found the opposite. You want to know more. The characters are strong and despite finding "Rich's" character a bit 'nasal' and annoying, "Eva" makes up for it with her voice, tone and looks. If you are looking for a "standard", predictable Hollywood horror film, this film is not for you. If you are open-minded and like low-budget yet very effective and all-encompassing horror-thrillers, Skew will not disappoint! Well done.
I really enjoyed this movie as it keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what kind of creepiness is going to jump out at you next! Most thriller/horror movies out there today are solely into shock value, rampant with gratuitous gore. Skew doesn't rely on over-the-top gore to scare you, it succeeds in doing so with great camera work, creepy images and freaky incidents. What starts out as a fun road trip becomes a gradual descent into the hellish unknown. You really feel for the two main characters in this film, they are likable, and yet the terror surrounding them seems beyond their control. Unlike most movies today, Skew really makes you think. You'll be trying to figure out what's going on all the way up to the very end. And then the reveal is splendidly disturbing.
