This film essentially begins in a hospital room where an elderly lady named "Ruth Lockhart" (Darlene Cook) has been admitted for an undisclosed illness. During this process, a young nurse walks in and administers an intravenous drug to her. Almost instantly Ruth realizes something is wrong but the nurse, rather than helping her, calmly walks out. Less than a minute later, Ruth is dead. The scene then shifts to a large mansion where a funeral reception is taking place for Ruth. During this time, it is revealed that Ruth's extremely wealthy husband, "Warren Lockhart" (Neville Edwards) is suffering from a severe case of dementia and, as a result, requires constant supervision. To that effect, although his daughter, "Madison Lockhart" (Joanne Jansen) is doing the best she can, her work schedule simply doesn't permit her to spend nearly as much time as he needs--which is causing problems for everyone concerned. Suddenly, as if by sheer coincidence, a young woman named "Rebecca Wilson" (Sierra Wooldrige) arrives and informs Madison that she was a friend of Ruth and has come to pay her respects. Not long afterward, she soon becomes indispensable to the family. But what nobody knows is that Rebecca is the same person who poisoned Ruth in the hospital--and she has equally sinister plans for the entire family as well. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this movie started off adequately enough with both Sierra Wooldrige and Joanne Jansen playing their parts quite well. Unfortunately, the movie seemed to lose its momentum further on down the line before eventually ending on a totally unrealistic note. Everything was just too simple and convenient. Be that as it may, while I don't consider this to be a bad movie necessarily, it still left me somewhat disappointed, and I have rated it accordingly. Slightly below average.

A busy working mother hires a nurse to care for her wealthy father, who has early onset dementia, but soon a bizarre deception creeps into play when the seductive nurse makes a play for the family fortune. Lifetime/Hallmark mysteries get a bad rep, but I find them quite enjoyable, and a good way to pass the time. Deadly House Call is quite a good thriller, with a good villainess, though she looks so shady that she should've been sussed out long time. Her employer reckons something is off about her, but before she can follow up on her gut feeling there's a murder, a guy gets beaten up and her family are held hostage.

Rebecca ends up taking care of rich investment tycoon, Warren Lockhart, who has onset early dementia. Trouble is she's after the family fortune and will stop at nothing to get it!!! This Canadian Lifetime movie was quite good! Definitely recommend!

I finished it. The one thing that gets me with these movies is how after years of these kinds of plots, characters are still so gullible and trusting. There's nothing new here, but the movie kept my attention enough to see it until the end.

So about 15 minutes into the movie I suspected this is a remake Lifetime movie. Thirty-eight minutes into the movie this was confirmed. The movie I am talking about is the 2016 Lifetime thriller Stranger in my Home starring Emmanuelle Vauglier. There are some minor differences but this 2022 movie follows the same lines as the 2016 movie. Not much else to say about it.

When I sat down here late in 2022 to watch the thriller "Deadly House Call", I did so without ever having heard about the movie. And I have to admit that I wasn't really harboring much of any expectations to the movie, so director Max McGuire had every opportunity to impress and entertain me. The storyline in "Deadly House Call" was fairly simple and straight forward, but it was not a particularly exciting or edge-of-the-seat type of thriller. In fact, it was actually pretty bland. So writers Kevin Anders, Erica Deutschman and Shawn Riopelle didn't exactly provide director Max McGuire with the best material to work with. The acting performances in the movie was fairly good, taking into consideration the limitations of the script and character gallery. I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, and that is something I enjoy when I sit down to watch a movie. For a thriller then "Deadly House Call" just didn't cut it. Sure, it could be watched a single time, but that was also all there is to it, because the script simply doesn't have the contents to support more than a single viewing. If you enjoy thrillers, then there are far better choices available. "Deadly House Call" is not a movie that I am going to recommend you to rush out to get to watch. My rating of "Deadly House Call" lands on a four out of ten stars.
