Emily and the Magical Journey

I find the idea amazing especially for kids. It was disappointing tho when i began watching the fx are to parr with the labyrinth and for a film in 2020 i wouldn't say thats a good thing. The story line was badly put together with gaps and a terrible script. Not grate acting the thing saving the movie was the cut t thing who doesn't speak lol. The film has overall left me very confused and if a different director and producer picked up this idea in the future i think it could go somewhere but right now i wouldn't recommend it. I am a thirteen year old who watched it with a 36 year old and a 6 year old we all agreed there was too many questions left unanswered and for the 6 year old it was confusing and she said scary. Half way thru she told us to turn it off because it was too scary and was going to give her nightmares! Just be careful the kind of kids you watch with if you are going to.

Watched as a family with 8year old. At 40 mins we were debating weather to switch it off but saw it through. Not worth a watch - storyline does not flow and monsters look more akin to a B rated movie. As for the random men in the field - this was utterly bizarre. A perplexing film - the main actress (young girl) does not say a lot - this is a weird film.

Tingeling of peter panish story, made as a whole family consept, no real violence, just some controlled scare moments, but truly a sweet film with well acting kids, the story though is of second hand interest, and the makers shifting between visual effects, dimensional tricking and superstition just lures a grumpy old man half way in. But the musical score though gives the aura af something special, that my wife o tta screensight could tell by listening that this is a ''kjekk'' film. So i can admit that its a verytail about fairies and other berryeating badgers and funnylooking piglets, all made on a modest budget, that may enhance the impressive work done to make a feature lenght movie in a very competitive market of the silverscreen world. So a small recommend for the grown ups, a big one for the family.

There may be a portion of the audience for this site that says, "Thanks for all the recommendations of Joe D'Amato and Jess Franco movies, Sam, but tell me, is there something that you've seen that I can watch with my young children and not get protective services called on me?" Yes, Emily and the Magical Journey is the answer, as it is Dove approved to be shown for audiences of all ages. See? It's not all bodice ripping and throat slashing around here, even when it totally is. Originally titled Faunutland and the Lost Magic, this is a movie about Emily, who has lost her father and wants to help her mother be happy again. She finds a magic chest that brings her into a new world of magic. While there, she must confront all of her fears to keep her new friends safe and get back home. Directed by Marcus Ovnell, this has some gorgeous effects and really cute creature design. It really is like a storybook come to life. Fans of stuff like The Neverending Story will enjoy this and it might end up running on a loop for your young kids. Plus, if you're a fan of DC Universe TV, Pennyworth's Harriet Slater and Supergirl's Tipper Seifert-Cleveland are in this.

She reads her mother's books based on her dad's drawings and follows a butterfly into Wonderland that has riffs stolen from Harry Potter. Here she meets some folks who overact and must face her fears to save this alter reality. You knew where this was headed and the fact she would make the shot in basketball. I was surprised she didn't meet her father. The main problem with this feature is it was made too late when decent plots and special effects abound.

I really liked the characters and the ideas, but there were a lot of really confusing things like the old men and the pollen. Some exposition would have helped a lot. Also there were a few shots that lingered a bit too long, and I would think "OK ok you can cut to the next shot already." The costumes and the creatures were nice. One of them was supposed to a monster but was entirely too cute for that role. Overall it had a lot of potential, but I don't think it would hold a kid's interest for long.

Can't blame the actresses at all. It's a Horrible script. I'd rather had watched 24 hours of Teletubbies then wasted the 85 minutes on this.
