If you are looking for a template, run-of-the-mill romance movie, this is for you. There is no excitement in this, no sparks and it's just very plain. The set is so over the top romanticised that you really need to work hard at suspending disbelief. The characters are likeable, but there is no way you could get involved in their story, they feel like cardboard cut-outs from a romance book cover. There are some positives though, such as the main male character surprinsing openness to a more feminine business approach and that's about all I can think of. It's a very tame story, with tame characters and personalities.

This movie is all-age appropriate and uplifting enough, but there isn't anything really special or outstanding. The plot is standard, the chemistry is average the shop/set is not particularly eye-catching because the items are by nature small. There probably needed to be more side stories to add interest, but this was made during the pandemic, so maybe a few things had to be simplified. I'm not sure I'd particularly want to watch it again, but I wouldn't turn it off either. Jesse Hutch is ok but shines more in some of his other rom-com movies so I'll most likely rewatch those. This needs more energy.

At first I thought it was boring because it took the characters a while to get to the next scene. I thought the next might be interesting so I waited. It was not. The dialog is boring. The characters are boring. The plot is boring. The outdoor scenery looks like the typical one you would see in these types of movies. Outdoor market people walking around as bored as I am. The two main characters have been in other similar movies. But the two of them together in this movie created a snooze fest experience for me. I actually watched about 10 minutes total. I decided to put myself out of my misery by deleting if from my dvr. There! It was gone and the torture was over.

Skye has a business headed for the dumps. Gavin and his dad are the names on the sign of a big corporate raider. Gavin wants to save Skye's business even before he finds out the owner is Skye his old flame. Well this premise has only been done a gazillion times. It's not one of my favorites either. From there you can pretty much write the story. There isn't much in the way of highs or lows or surprises. When I first saw Jesse Hutch in a stiff 3 piece suit I couldn't believe it was him. Both he and Stephanie Bennett have a smile that doesn't look sincere. Hutch seems to be able to have chemistry with most of his costars. Here it's good but not sizzling. The viewers are led to believe there is a big secret that Gavin needs to tell Skye. When revealed, I found it a bit disappointing and the conflict and its resolution plays out about how you'd expect. Some of the bath bomb creation is mildly interesting. My wife loves these things. This is one time it's too bad you can't smell TV.

The scenery is nice. I usually like Jesse Hutch. Stephanie Bennett is pretty but smiles too much, like all the time, through every line. Jesse wears a three piece suit, which was popular in the 80s. Maybe it's coming back in style or that's how they dress up in Canada? In the beginning, my husband noticed the loud sound of empty paper coffee cups hitting the counter. That sound should have been cut out during editing. Lol There are 2 conversations where people being talked about are about 10 feet away or less and the conversation is loud. The others would of course have clearly heard it. Reminds me of plays where the narrator talks to the audience. Skye gives away lots of bath bombs. The ingredients would be very expensive if they're that good. No wonder the store is losing money! There are a zillion ingredients in each one. Almost. The "misunderstanding" occurs when Skye hears Gavin arguing with his father. It's very obvious who said what and who's side Gavin was on. But no, she gets all accusatory and huffy. It's so annoying why these movies do that. Then the father makes a 180 degree turn around in 5 second after he smells a bath bomb that reminds him of his dead wife's favorite scent. He actually has to explain the whole thing in case the viewers don't get it. It's the first time he's thought about his wife. Seriously??? He's suddenly repentant and likes Skye and says how talented she is and tells his son not to lose her. The most ridiculous scene in the movie. For those who turned the movie off early, you missed a doozie of a scene. Just a bad movie and a waste of time.

Stephanie bennett and jesse hutch. When a small town shop isn't bringing in the profits that it should be, gavin is sent from the corporate conglomerate to juice up the business. But there are challenges all around; his business partner (his own father!) has set a deadline for results. And the store manager is an ex girlfriend, who resents his meddling in the business. I think we can all guess where this story line is going... if this film hasn't been shown on hallmark channel, it should be in the future. It's all a bit cutesie and sugary sweet. Some good acting and some not so good acting in here. And an uneven script... no-one says "she was returning your gaze", or some other odd phrases in here. Did you notice that people never pay for stuff they take from the bath and body store? No wonder they aren't turning a profit!! And don't we know better than to let loose wish lanterns in the air, and again near the end, a bunch of floating paper things in the water... SO MUCH pollution. Or the animals will choke on it. Bad humans! Directed by nicole leier. It's watchable. The title "love, bubbles, and crystal cove" is sometimes listed as "romance at crystal cove".

It's a Reel One Entertainment movie. They produce a lot of UpTV movies. Now for the movie... Stephanie Bennett has a nice smile. She smiles too much. Her friend Zoe smiles too much. The mother has the personality of a wet wash rag. Jesse Hutch has good chemistry with most of his leading ladies. He smiles too much. His smile is creepy. When Stephanie Bennett and Jesse Hutch smile at each other, it's creepy. The plot of the movie is boilerplate. Big company tries to put small shop out of business. Love prevails. It's creepy. The scenery is nice though. They go on a hike - she's in heels. Yeah right. He's working from his brother's apartment in a three-piece suit. Yeah right. I watch this movie and can't believe I did. Three stars is for the scenery...

This movie made me throw up. I didn't manage to get to the toilet in time so it went all over my TV. I felt extremely satisfied as the TV sparked and died. I knew this movie would not work again.

Don't have high expectations obviously. It's Hallmark. Another small town store owner whose business is going under and her mom slash partner both are completely taken by surprise that they're losing money. Some big corporate dude from the city comes to take over and they have a history. Bla bla bla. Also, overdoing it with the 3 piece suit, dude. We already know he's from the big city. Doesn't need to walk around hicksville in a 3 piece suit to make this apparent. You're hitting people over the head with it. Stop it. Also not rooting for an Oscar obviously, but a corporate exec would never shake hands and then 5 minutes later walk into the store and start rearranging merchandise. They would look at the books and the business side of things and do research on the subject. This dude has zero idea about bath products. He has no business walking into her store 5 minutes after verbally agreeing to take over or partner up, and giving pointers with no knowledge of her product. Also can I just say how tired I am, not just in this movie, of the cliche to-go coffee cup or ice cream cup with the characters walking down main street in their hands, clearly the containers are empty, and there's either no eating or sipping going on at all, or it's really poorly acted pretending to sip hot coffee. Come on. You don't have to get Academy Award winners to inject some reality into this. Stop with the idea that these props are needed in every outdoor scene. Every single scene in a Hallmark movie someone brings or picks up take out coffee and every single time it's clearly not full of hot liquid or any liquid. I know it's tiny detail. So someone probably saying chill out, it's Hallmark. So what. Not looking for intense character development. Tiny details like these make a bad movie unbearable. 30 minutes in, I can't continue watching this. The 2 leads have no chemistry. The male lead whether from writing or his own personality has no business in a schmalzy Hallmark movie.
