Wtf! Wth! Wt...... Was this a HORROR movie? Leave horror..was this even a movie??? If i was allowed, I would rate it in the lowest minuses...wasted 1.5 hours on this absurd, pathetic movie...garbage, utter waste...total nonsense... surprised to see this movie getting 5/7 starts from many...not worth even -5 stars...better utilise your time in something else...this movie would just lead to frustration amd irritation...funny part is when the movie would end, you wouldn't know whether to laugh, cry or hit yourself with a baseball bat multiple times for watching this idiotic movie.
I've decided to use this acc. to focus on reviewing some Indie movies, Robert franchise was one of the first to catch my attention and I'm glad to start by reviewing this little spin-off, I watched it without paying any attention to the typical "1 star" haters reviews and I urge anyone who decides to watch this movie to neglect these negative reviews. The movie was fun to watch and I really enjoyed many scenes, I love the fact that this franchise takes the same path of Child's play and puppet master when it comes to moving the dolls which gives an authentic feeling instead of the typical CGI, I really liked the dolls characters specially the cyclops lady which looks creepy in a cool way. If you enjoyed puppet master back in the day you'll enjoy this one too! I appreciate the effort of making small budget movies like this. Yet I urge the director to pay more attention to the gun shots effects, it's very easy to excute and will give the movie a new meaning. I'm looking forward to checking out and review the whole franchise.
Andrew Jones' prolific North Bank Entertainment dishes out another in the successful series featuring Robert the Doll. As with the previous couple of instalments his fictional creator, The Toymaker, has become a central character. It isn't a great decision: Lee Bane is a mainstay of Jones' productions and often turns in fine performances, but once again, he is buried under 'old man' make-up from which no-one could make much of an impression. The Toymaker's look has been toned down, admittedly, but the character remains visually unimpressive and often absurd. Knowingly though, there is a thin line of dark humour present that invites the audience not to take things too seriously. This is very much part of a series: there is little effort to explain any previous plot developments in the hope of converting those unfamiliar with Robert's back-story. Events occur, but very little story seems to take place for a long while. Robert himself makes fleeting head-and-shoulders appearances (as do his friends, Cyclops and Kalashnikov), and any venue, whether it be theatre of public house, is noticeably free of people. 'Robert Reborn' is the fifth in the film series, and it appears to be the concluding chapter in what has become the prequel trilogy (this is set in 1951). I'm not massively sorry about this. Robert's origins could have made quite a pacey and entertaining story, but three films is stretching the idea beyond breaking point. And yet, this opened at #1 in HMV's DVD Premier Chart, so it appears others are more enamoured of the little fellow's beginnings than me. I still think there's mileage in the story. Images of a toy-room festooned with sightless, grinning mannequins will never not be creepy, and Jones' productions have always bounced back despite occasionally uninspiring decisions. 'Robert Reborn' isn't a bad film (the scenes aboard a plane heading for Moscow), but it exposes many weaknesses of a low-budget production without bringing anything particularly inspiring to the table this time around. My score is 5 out of 10.
Amazing they're already up to part five because it seems like only yesterday I bought the first movie. Part one was a bit of a Childs Play rip off and they were aiming for the creepiness in that one and they were still semi serious in part two but by the time part three came along they had the doll fighting Nazis so you know the filmmakers are just joking around with it at that point. Part four I thought was half of a good movie with the train scenes being awesome but the first half not so much and its similar here with the plane stuff in the second half of the movie being the best part of the whole thing. But Im a fan of the series flaws and all. It has an odd charm to it and each new movie takes the story into unexpected new directions so looking forward to what they do with it next.
The worst movie ever i have ever seen sorry andrew but to be honest waste of time
Looking at the way they seem determined to stick Robert the Doll into increasingly silly scenarios this series is starting to feel like the equally dumb Leprechaun franchise. It would be funny if they made Robert in Da Hood.
The Robert movies continue to head deep into Puppet Master territory with this one although the Russian setting is new and something they haven't done in the Charles Band franchise. If you like your doll flicks served with creepiness and jump scares you're better off with Annabelle as the horror here is pretty minimal. But the laughs are plenty with pitch black comedy throughout and the Toymaker character acting even more over the top in this one than in any of the other movies. There's a pretty full quota of utter bizarreness, a Russian officer being resurrected from the dead with his eyeball dangling and the killer dolls performing in a theatre show hit about an eleven on the weirdness scale. But overall a fun time if you dig movies like Leprechaun and Puppet Master.
All of the Robert movies are a waste of time and overall terrible movies.
One and a hal hour hours of my life I can never reclaim back! Played for laughs on a virtually non existent budget by terrible actors who's acting abilities stretch the whole range from a to b. Looks like it was filmed in somebodies' box room. So cheap it hurts, sound is awful, acting is awful, accents are an insult to the country this rubbish is supposed to be set in and the comedy and horror are non existent, this file of refuse 'steams' Like a bucket of compost. If it was available in aromavision, the smell would make you puke! Dysentery would be preferable to watching this!
Watching this makes you really wonder what youre doing with your life when people can just write down absolutely anything and receive budget for a film. Giving it a 2 cause ive seen worse.
