This particular album has two of the most noted Ghazal ustads singing together in a concert. The first artist is Mehdi Hassan who is fondly known as the Ghazal King. Mehdi Hassan was born in Rajasthan in India but his family along with him moved to Pakistan after partition. Mehdi Hassan is well known for his typical style of singing which infused Thumri, Khayal, Dadra, Dhrupad all the genres. Mehdi Hassan was known for creating atmospheric effects through his singing. Mehdi Hassan was also a noted playback singer and sang for lot of films. In this live album he has sung one very popular Ghazal “Ranjish Hi Sahi”. The taankari and voice modulation in this song is almost unbelievable. The other noted Ghazal artist in this album is Ghulam Ali. Ghulam Ali was born in Punjab district of British India which is now in Pakistan. He is often mistaken with the legendary Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sahib of whom he was a disciple. He is fondly known as chhote Ghulam Ali. Ghulam Ali started his playback career with B.R. Chopra’s film Nikaah which released in 1982. He is quite a popular singer in the entire South Asian Diaspora. In this album Ghulam Ali has sung some very popular Ghazals one of which is “Baharon Ko Chaman Yaad”. This one is a typical soulful Ghulam Ali rendition.
