The best thing about this movie is that it may discourage others from using the stale phrase that finding obscure crime scene evidence is as needles and haystacks.
A good story line, splendid realistic acting by every actor in this movie. And great direction. The cinametography was excellent and the end was surprising. Watched this movie on a Saturday night, and was pleasently surprised. Well worth the cost. We need more movies like this.
Grief. Realism. Surprise. Visuals excellent, scenery lush, music very much in tune.
Wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. The acting was spot on, storyline was awesome
It's hard to say exactly what downgrades this film. I thought the performances were truly solid. The storyline was compelling and well thought out. Honestly, I think it was the soundtrack. I hate to say this, because it's a genuinely stunning score, it just served to strike too much of a melodramatic tone. I think the overall presentation of the film would have been served better by a more minimalistic score and corresponding editing. All that said, I think it's worth a watch.
Wow it feels like an old Hollywood western movie and it's so intense and nerve wracking just wow. And Brenton thwaites is amazing in this great actor loved his accent.
Very good acting, with a twist at the end. It has a inconclusive ending.
Sure don't look like Montana. Long leaf Pine. Bad set. Poor script. Bad acting for most part.
Definitely recommend watching this movie. Storyline is great. Very much comparable to real life. Amazing cast! I've seen the movie more than once. Give it a chance and watch this movie.
This movie is really good. It is slightly slow but the script is strong, the acting believable, the filming is gorgeous and performances of the four main actors (Ted Levine as Sheriff Quinn, Brenton Thwaites as Sheriffs Deputy Norman Young, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Normans wife Frances & Ben Robson as Normans brother Ray) are dynamic. I have heard this called a sluggish new film noir. I disagree. I call it a cut of life with a salting of that which goes incredibly wrong. It is worth watching, it draws you in and holds you captive with its absorbing tale.
