Wazir

बढ़िया फिल्म!

Yes, there are a few cinematic liberties taken. Yes, many more bullets than what you would normally expect, miss our protagonists. Yes, some situations work out more easily than you would expect them to. But Wazir is a wonderful movie. Hats off to Vidhu Vinod Chopra. And great work by Farhan Akhtar who plays his role to perfection. Amitabh bachchan seems more Amitabh bachchan than his character. They should have toned down his extremely improbable impeccable appearance, especially the hair. It looks all made up, in contrast to Farhan's naturalness. The music is great. The narrative is smooth. No unnecessary melodrama. Great screenplay. Good pace. Nice dialogues. I wouldn't mind watching it again. I wish i could watch a movie this good every week. More power to V.V.Chopra.

2016 started with a tasteless movie like wazir. After watching the movie I watched Mr Abhijat Joshi's interview (at trailer launch) once again where he proudly claimed this movie will be a CLASSIC! From the start to end of the movie I was looking for that class(!). Hugely disappointed. Normally I recommend my friends to watch a movie if I like it. Also I do discourage my friends to watch such bad movie. They said (VC and AJ) it's a friendship movie. I couldn't find the feelings of friendship between them. Songs are irritating. Only Tere Bin is listen worthy. Cameo of one and half ghosts (NNM & JA) are useless. Complete let down movie. Stay away from it.

Loss of loved ones brings two friends together. Things reveal as they play the game of chess. An emotional-thriller filled with action and a mention of the political stage in Kashmir Valley. Characters backstory could have been more appropriately filmed.

Awesome ending and awesome suspense. Must watch and Bollywood should work on this kind of movies

A smart movie. Just 137 mins. All fine. But so many silly high flowing Urdu songs!!! Farhan Akthar is miscasted. Amit ji under utilized. Could have been a much better movie! And then the last bit where there is the pen drive explanation, Indian audience is stupid anyway 😭! The film makers need to respect the cine goers and stop spoon feeding us!!!

The movie might seem a bit slow in the first half but it is basically in captivating you in its story. 2nd half catches the pace and both Amitabh & Farhan Khan are just fascinating. It is not an action movie, as the title suggests this is a movie played on the concept of chess and how one can use each other to get their work done. A few songs do disrupt the story & that kinda ruins the whole mood. This movie could have been much more intense and enticing but the Director could not make that happen. A must watch.

I had a high expectation from Bejoy Nambiar's Wazir and its safe to say that I am a satisfied customer. Good thing about the story is the out of the box thinking and the cruelty of real world political leaders. The stage play in the end, described the Omkarnath Special pretty well like any other good Mystery movie. However, the screenplay could have been better. The movie dragged the separation segment of Danish and Rohana a bit too much which gave the Bollywoodish look and missed some crucial parts on the main story. For example defining a little much more on how Omkarnath faked the caller ID and other things like that. The repetitions of "Khel Khel" and some dialogues were also annoying. The action in the movie was a bit more than required. But overall, the movie is worth watching and the acting from both Farhan and Amit Sir will touch your heart. If you are a mystery movie fan, then its a must watch.

Let's be honest! Thrillers don't work in Bollywood. If the plot is too complicated, audience will dismiss it as garbage and if it is too obvious, well it can no longer be called a thriller. Wazir really tries to find a balance between the two. What impressed me most was that it really was a story of love, loss and friendship. The length of the movie is also a plus (~100 mins). There isn't any mindless action sequence or flying cars. The movie really relies on the two leads, Amitabh and Farhan and they deliver big time. The plot itself is very interesting as well. I was never confused or bored during the movie as the acting, camera-work and music kept thing crisp. There are some flaws in the editing and some lose ends. But for the most part they can be overlooked due to the fact that we finally have a movie with a story and talented acting. Go watch it!

One of my all time favourites, Action packed, suspenseful, gripping and a massive plot twist, I mean, what else could you ask for?
