This movie is overflowing with heart, passion, and dedication. The unsung people known as test pilots are so under appreciated. Born to Fly highlights their spirit and determination in their chosen profession, taking on risks to ensure their air force have the best possible equipment to go about their duties. I love how the director tried to keep it as real as possible (from what I heard in interviews), incorporating anecdotes from real test pilots, showing us glimpses and sacrifices of their lives. The aerial scenes are breathtaking, so vivid and mesmerizing. I also love how the story takes us through the conditioning and training one would go through to even be considered for a test pilot position in China. Lei Yu is an eager beaver, going through life fueled by his love of the air. He can be spontaneous to a fault however he more than makes up for it with his intelligence, love of problem solving and drive to succeed. Wang Yibo plays Lei Yu to perfection, injecting his brand of 100% dedication to his chosen craft. I love the camaraderie between the team and personnel, everyone understood their assignment, gave their all. This movie is well casted, I especially loved Hu Jun's role as Zhang Ting, he inspires such loyalty. You will laugh, cry, cheer but most of all, overflow with admiration for a team of dedicated people at the end of this movie.

Such a cool movie! I laughed, I cried and I was in awed. The cinematography of the jets and the landscape was impressive. Everything was paced perfectly. No scenes were wasted. It was over before I knew it. Love the characters and their story. The aerial flight scene were amazingly shot. I watched it twice just to take in all its beauty. Learn a lot about test pilots and their sacrifices. The realness of this movie was also something I truly loved as well. The sound of the sonic boom was so cool as well as the spins and engine failures. Want to rewatch again. It's family theme too! Highly recommended!

Born to Fly - yes they are born to fly. Who does not want to see a group of handsome pilots! The movie is full of thrilling scenes, boyish fights with laughters, touching moments that melt your heart...... Air-fighter lovers will absolutely enjoy seeing these newest fighter jets (yes you can see military grade stealth aircraft.) Captain Zhang's life tells the true meaning of love. The love-hate relationship between the boys are so real, hostile in the beginning but caring to each other at the end. Lei Yu is such a character: good-looking, determined, self-disciplined. He made me think maybe all soldiers have these qualities. Anyway, a full-star movie and I love it.

What I can say is that this movie is very amazing, inspiring and touching. All the feeling about this movie is beyond words. The whole film does not focus on the air battle scenes caused by the air disputes between countries, but the thrilling scenes do appear one after another. Every character has their own personality. There are not only competition among comrades in arms, but also humorous laughs. The relationship between the hero and heroine is also to the point. The most touching thing is the last messages of the real pilots before the sacrifice that appeared at the end of the film. The tone is so calm, but every word reveals his nostalgia for his dearest and loved ones.
