Bugonia

Bugonia is a brilliant film, with constant back-and-forth between Plemons' conspiracy-riddled mind and Emma Stone's corporate manipulation. You never quite know who's telling the truth or whether she's actually an alien. Eventually, it hardly matters. He kills supposed aliens and innocent people alike, while she's responsible for questionable corporate experiments. The cop's guilt over sexually assaulting him clouds his judgment, despite his suspicions. His addicted mother and the feeling that "nobody cares about us" only deepen the tragedy. Almost nobody is innocent, except perhaps Teddy, who dies. The performances are phenomenal, but the real brilliance lies in the warning: humanity doesn't need aliens to destroy itself. Greed, religion, ideology, and our need to divide ourselves will eventually do the job. The aliens merely accelerate the inevitable after their attempts to heal humanity fail. Perhaps we were beyond saving all along.

10/10 🔥 no notes

The themes and color grading of the movie are really good but all together i couldn't wait for it to end The plot was very predictable but I give praise to the producer for leaving it visually captivating enough to keep you watching. In summary, I wish they invested the time and budget into producing something more

Yung akala mo talaga buang lang... 8/10
