Reunion

🎬 Movie Review: Reunion (2024) Genre: Comedy, Mystery, Whodunit Director: Chris Nelson Starring: Lil Rel Howery, Billy Magnussen, Jillian Bell, Nina Dobrev, Jamie Chung, Chace Crawford Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) A snowy high school reunion turns into a stylish, slightly silly whodunit—with charm, laughs, and a few stumbles along the way. Reunion tries to blend the chaotic energy of a high school reunion with a classic murder mystery formula, and for the most part, it works. Trapped by a snowstorm at a wealthy classmate’s estate, a group of former high school friends are forced to confront their pasts… and a murder. What follows is a twisty, comical game of “who did it?”—with secrets, betrayals, and more awkward nostalgia than anyone asked for. ✅ What Works: The cast is electric. Lil Rel Howery brings grounded humor, while Billy Magnussen leans into absurdity with glee. Nina Dobrev is charming as always, and Jillian Bell delivers her

Not a masterpiece, but tons of fun! Watched it with my parents and they absolutely loved it. Jillian Bell and Lil Rel are great. The rest of the cast has some great moments too, but Jillian and Rel really stood out as super funny with some great one liners. I definitely had no clue who did it and was taken by surprise at the reveal - great writing there! Overall, this was a really fun and funny murder mystery set at a high school reunion (such a weird social thing we do...) and I would highly recommend for anyone looking for laughs! For those who don't like scary movies, you're totally good watching this one - it's really not scary, much more of a comedy.

Wow! This was way better than expected. Good story. Hilarious cast (especially Jillian Bell). Watched it with my family and we all had a blast! Not perfect, but was very surprised by how fun and entertaining this was! The plot follows a group of old classmates who are coming together for their 20-year high school reunion. There are hilarious antics at the party, it almost has the nostalgic vibe of Old School or American Pie, then suddenly & surprisingly sh#t hits the fan. Then the movies becomes a great blend of an ensemble comedy and a murder mystery. It also really stands apart from Knives Out and other entries it the genre. Strong recommend!

This is very obviously a funny, nonsensical movie. Its name is literally reunion- if you didn't want to see a highschool reunion, don't watch it. I liked it! It made me think and I feel that the mystery, although taking a B plot to the comedy and being a tinyyyy bit predictable (only 1 piece of it, though), was very well concocted, even if it didn't get enough screen time to be the A plot. Overall, I liked it- it was funny, raunchy, silly and got me involved. The characters truly shine- the "weird girl" is expertly played and so so funny. Watch it- but don't expect Shakespeare. Expect over the top characters, funny and stupid situations, and highschool-esque fun.

Directed by Chris Nelson. A runtime of one hour and thirty minutes. With an R rating. You can purchase it on Prime Video. It's a high school reunion. Best friends "Ray," played by Lil Rel Howery, and "Evan West," played by Billy Magnussen, who is a cop, now plan on going together. Everyone attending has mixed emotions about going. It doesn't make things any better that the reception is at "Mathew" and "Lisa Danbury," played by Chace Crawford and Dianne Doan mansion. "Mathew," who you might know from playing "The Deep" in the series "The Boys," was a tool in high school, and much hasn't changed in adulthood. He's just richer. Also attending is "Meagan Cooper," played by Cassandra Blair. "Ray" and she had a past. You also have "Vivian," played by Jillian Bell, who was labeled in high school as a future cat lady. "Jasmine Park," played by Jamie Chung, is a hopeless romantic and still looks like she's hopeless in that department. "Amanda Tanner," played by Nina Dobrev, is the class president who still has aspirations in politics but also has a hidden wild side. Even "Mr. Buckley," played by Michael Hitchcock, the drunk history teacher, is making an appearance. What they thought would be an interesting and hopefully fun night turned into a horrific one. When one of their classmates turns up dead. A handful of the reuniongoers were trapped from the previous night because of a snowstorm. These old classmates will try to solve the murder while trying not to be the killer's next victim. In this mystery comedy,. "Reunion" was an okay film. Lil Rel had some of the funniest parts. You have to give it to him. He can get into his comedy bag while doing several different genres and doing it well, for that matter. Some of the cast was cool, but for the most part, it was a lackluster film. It was predictable. But like I said, Lil Rel provided the best laughs you'll get in the film. It's kind of funny because I missed my ten-year reunion. My twenty-year reunion is coming up. If I don't go to this one, I'll probably never go to another. But whether any of us are better or worse, one thing that's a consistent fact is that we're all just trying to make it in this crazy world. Overall, this was a decent comedy. I give it three mor fires 🔥🔥🔥. #CosmoandtheMovieWithin #CosmoMovieBlog #CosmoLanier #Reunion.
