This film is excellent. Dhanush played really well in this movie. He knew how to manipulate emotions and deliver them without overdoing it. The songs are amazing. My favorite album of this year without a doubt. Everyone played their role very well. It's just magic. I loved it and you absolutely must see this movie.

As the name only indicates that "GOLDEN SON ", the film is a love ,romantic, comedy & of course family entertainer. The first half of the film is based on comedy of Dhanush & his friends. The 1st half is of Dhanush & Amy Jackson's love. Then before interval only the break up happens.Then Dhanush marries a girl (Samantha) as arranged marriage.The film interval happens as Dhanush father suicide himself by hangover. Then the 2nd half is mainly based on that why Hero's father committed suicide abruptly.Finally Hero came to know that his one of best friend is the reason for his father's suicide.Then how Dhanush tackles situations must be seen on screen only.......ENJOY.

I love Anirudh music and soundtrack. The songs I like is Jodi Nilave and Enna Solla because Swetha voice is awesome. It also completely based out of strings, the cut-song with a symphonic twist is sensual and comforting and infects us with love and care. Anirudh ROCKS!!!!!

It is a good reminder that we do everything to be happy and money does NOT equal to happiness. Samantha and Danush performed brilliantly in this heartwarming family entertainer!!! This is a rare gem in tamil movie industry!!!

Thanga Magan has a story focused on family values and honour. Which is interesting and simple, yet still feels like a breeze of fresh air when compared to what so many movies being released nowadays are like. The already fun story is made even better with the addition of the romance and love before vs love after marriage comparison. Story wise you will not be disappointed, the movie even has some pretty epic action scenes in it! I loved the cast, especially Dhanush and Samantha. Amy Jackson plays Hema, Tamizh's first love and girlfriend. They have a nice relationship until they eventually break up over Tamizh wanting his parents to stay with them after marriage and Hema being against it. Amy does a good job as Hema, though I was a bit disappointed when I thought they were going to end up together during the first part of the film. Dhanush who plays Tamizh is just brilliant as usual, he goes from a young lover boy, to a married man and effortlessly switches over to being a total badass when required. His chemistry with co-star Samantha Ruth Prabhu was spicy and a joy to see on screen. Samantha Ruth Prabhu is absolutely stunning as usual and steals the scene as soon as she appears on screen. Samantha who plays Tamizh's wife Yamuna absolutely nails her character and portrays her quieter demeanor and love for her husband perfectly. Yamuna and Tamizh are perfect for each other, even though theirs was an arranged marriage. Hema definitely lost out, her husband, Tamizh's cousin Aravind turns out to be a complete failure. Thanga Magan has lovely music and I absolutely loved it's soundtrack. Enna Solla and Jodi Nilave are amazing with the voices of Schweta and Dhanush enchanting audiences everywhere. All in all Thanga Magan is a lovely movie, with an awesome storyline. Dhanush and Samantha absolutely kill it as well and combined with the lovely music you will be not be disappointed. A very well earned and well deserved 10/109 from me!

I was pleasantly surprised by this film. Rather than being the drama that I expected, Thanga Magan is a sweet portrait of love and the evolving relationships amidst tragic family dynamics. What stands out the most is how love and courtship have been so innocently portrayed through great music sequences. Dhanush gave a solid performance throughout the film. The dialogues are good, especially that of the supporting cast. Give this film a go, and you'll also be in for a pleasant surprise :)
