"Betrayed by My Bridesmaid" includes some of the most obnoxious characters imaginable. Katie and Tom, a sweet couple, are preparing for their wedding. But at every stage, something goes terribly wrong that embarrasses the couple and even places Katie's life in danger. The characters were too slow in realizing that someone hates Katie and is trying to sabotage her wedding. Even when a note is received that is a clear threat to Katie, the contents are dismissed with the only suspect being Katie's wayward sister Connie. But it soon becomes apparent that Connie is being framed by one of the other bridesmaids. On the IMDb site, the Marvista production team has provided a capsule summary that gives away the identity of the jealous and vindictive bridesmaid. So much for any suspense, surprise, or plot twists here! The film lapsed into comedy toward the end with a wild scene in a hotel in which the cheap hotel room door was easily kicked in to rescue Katie from a fire. Even the bachelorette party with male strippers was pretty lame. While there were some colorful locations, the film lacked substance in its characters and has little to recommend it. For a drama of pre-wedding mix-ups and confusion, nothing can surpass Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
