It's a fun, predictable, romance novel-type movie with a typical arc of slow-burn romance, ultimately ending with conflict resolution. Pacing is good. I didn't think there would be as much chemistry as there was, but I was pleasantly surprised. Both lead characters went through self-reflection and personal growth. Liam Hemsworth did an amazing job playing Owen; his character development impressed me the most. Laura Dern was great as Kathryn, although I think the writers had more opportunity with her character. The way in which Owen and Kathryn meet for the first time is a little bit clunky. It's common for slow-burn romances to have awkward first meetings, but Kathryn's initial reactions to Owen are a bit contradictory to the character they are trying to portray her as. This is, in no way a reflection on Laura Dern's performance; the story implies that Kathryn wants solitude, yet she comes off a bit too flirty too soon. This could have been reconsidered. The rest of the story develops as it should. Owen's girlfriend is exactly what she's expected to be. Supporting cast is also exactly what is expected. The setting is fantastic. So again, it's a fun romance if you're looking for that sort of thing. It's not one where you'll need to break out the tissues, I would have liked a little bit more spice, but it's still enjoyable.

Cringeworthy romcom telemovie features thirty-something Finance professional Hemsworth and fifty-something writer Dern finding an unlikely romance at a writer's retreat in Morocco. Cliched travelogue shot in 4K is so lightweight it almost levitates resembling a slightly more expensive Hallmark picture (albeit with more profanity, drug use and titillation). Capably acted despite the painfully dull dialogue, the film is technically competent without displaying any particular plot imagination nor artistic texture. Slightly steamy modern matinee made for women, by women that appears to be an attempt at stereotype reversal with Hemsworth the eye candy and Dern the more cerebral character. Overall it's casually handled and meets low expectations.

Actors playing was okay, but the plot and the chemistry btw Liam and Laura was awful. The story is a slow and boring romance. Nothing new. There werent any really funny moments, nor real drama. So I was bored. And the writer wanted an old woman-young boy romance, but please! At least you should have choose a woman who is old, but look young and hot.... Liam is 34, and Laura is 57 years old. But Laura is as old as she looks... and she's just an avarage woman, not even hot.... they should have choose another actress who is youthful. About the same age as Laura there are lots of beautiful woman: Salma Hayek, Sandra Bullock, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry...... Any of those actress would have been much better choice for this role. With these two people the story was unbelievable and discredited. Why would a hot tall guy fall in love with an old avarage woman...? If the woman would have been at least hot... or look youthful... Then maybe anyone would understand. But this way....? No!

It's a nice weekend movie. I like both actors and it was easy to watch although some parts didn't make sense. The scenes were perfect, you really want to go there (which is in my checklist). The story was slow but the end was too quick. The other characters were too shallow. Ladies, have good glass of wine and enjoy Liam. He was just a pretty face for me before, now I saw a different angle. He is really talented. Laura Dern is one of my favorites since Big Little Lies. She never disappoints. I agree that the name of the movie has nothing to do with the story. Maybe it's from the publishing house, Lonely Planet.

I thought it was going to be another Lost in Translation movie, a very touching relationship between two lost human beings, but i was very disappointed Shooting in in Morocco and the amazing places the beautiful colors everywhere it has to be a beautiful story, not just another unlogical love story! I was hoping for another *Under the Tuscan Sun*, but the leads have as much chemistry as a rock and a paperclip. Their make-out scene is painfully awkward - like watching a hot, young guy kiss his aunt. The characters, especially Laura Dern's, are shallow, one-dimensional, and lack any real emotional depth. It's a complete waste of a beautiful location, with stunning scenery undermined by formulaic writing and truly terrible casting choices. The whole film feels contrived and predictable. Despite my better judgment, I watched to the end just to see if it could get worse. Spoiler alert: it does.
