My Personal Rating - 6.8/10 Obviously this documentary is made for Car People and it's purely focused about cars and their history. The ones that are interested behind the cars especially Koenigsegg that has interesting story behind them and it's founder and yes they are my most favorite Car Manafacturer in Automotive World. It also includes interviews with Chris Harris , Horacio Pagani which i found interesting too. It's just worth to watch it if you are interested in those person i mentioned. Pros: Interesting Story Behind Koenigsegg Decent Cinematography Interviews From Chris Harris and Horacio Pagani and Christian Koenigsegg himself and more. Cons: Only Focused On Car People More Focused on Koenigsegg Than Other Manafacturers Rating On Each Aspect Cinematography: 7/10 Atmosphere: 6/10 Dialogue: 7/10
I was going into this movie with low expectations, as I had previously heard it was slow and boring, adding on to the fact that the budget of the movie couldn't even pay for a 10th of what the cars were. I didn't find it slow at all, in fact there were some points where I wish they would have elaborated a little more. Maybe if you had no previous knowledge about cars in general, then maybe it could be a little boring, but if you care even a little bit about the history if cars, then I think its definitely worth a watch. The movie talks about hypercars in general, instead of just Koenigseggs, so the movie instantly became a lot more interesting to me because of that. All the camera work was extremely well done, and the interviews didn't drag on for too long, so if you're into car documentaries, then this is definitely a must-watch, even if it is a few years old by now
Apex: The Story of the Hypercar was Car created a new car ending the named is Koenigsegg Regera. The Koenigsegg Regera in appears a Racing Games franchises.
(Flash Review) If you like cars, appreciate speed and innovation, you'll enjoy this. This film covers all the heavy hitters in the exotic car industry. Ferrari, McLaren, Porsche, Pagani and it focuses on Koenigsegg. It isn't just a YouTube video of these cars doing hot laps and sliding their tails out. They talk with some CEOs, engineers and designers to hear what drives them to do what they do and what inspires their thinking on design and technical innovations. There are some nice behind the scenes factory shots. The cinematography is great and high dollar. It is fun to see how Koenigsegg approaches their goal of breaking the track record for a production car at the Nürburgring; AKA: The Green Hell as it is an historically dangerous and challenging track.
I enjoy a good documentary about passions and technology, and I've enjoyed quite a few similar car documentaries, but this one was just unwatchable. Just drags on and on and on with no point, no plot, no punchline. It's like the entire documentary is an "intro" to another documentary, I sat there waiting and waiting and waiting for it to start, and by the half-hour point just gave up. Devoid of any fascinating technical details, exploration of the car, survey of the design process, view of the production process, etc. This entire documentary could have been a three minute special, with two or three shots of the car and an interview with the team leader. Instead, you got about three hundred shots of the car from every angle over the course of an hour, and still, no meaningful interviews...all style with no substance. Watching this documentary is the equivalent of staring at a few pretty magazine pictures, with small, poorly informative captions underneath. Don't waste your time.
I am used to see so much car-related material on TV/streaming/internet etc. that I have gotten a bit critical of what I am about to spend my time on watching. There's just so much junk out there. Luckily there's also documentaries/shows/clips that IS worth spending time watching, and "Apex: The Story of the Hypercar" is definitely one of them. Interesting from start to end, with beautiful pictures of fantastic cars and interviews with fascinating, interesting and inspiring people. Throughout the documentary you'll get a little bit closer to the major hypercar manufacturers, but as a red line it follows the story of Koenigsegg, whom you'll get to know the best. Not giving it a 10 score rating only because I think it should be a longer, even more "in depth", documentary.
I respect Christian von koenigsegg he's like a einstein in hypercar world right now Can't believe a small swedish company is demolishing a company like Bugatti
I watched it without any expectations and have to say, you get some real entertainment here. In a nutshell, it explores three car manufacturers building the next big thing. The ultimate street legal racing machine. It does not go too deep into the details, but its very interesting to see how the people behind such projects think and act. In a world overblown with content, such pieces of art are the things that stand out. A little downside: Some of the commentary from the interviewed guys are kind of mediocre, but it does not affect the overall experience. If you are into cars or motor sports in general, or just a fan of visually pleasuring cinematography that's built upon a process of design thinking, you won't regret a look.
