Some good twists keep this thriller crime mystery interesting. Good lesson things are often not what they seem at first. The story involves a murder in defending it the investigation leads to another crime that stemmed from a car accident. Sounds complicated but the directing is good and the story evolves clearly enough to follow. The cinematography is good and polished looking. So Ji Sub is good at this role. He should play this type of guy more often. He has a face that would be an effective villain. Intelligent and sympathetic looking Kim Yun Jin is always watchable wish she would do more drama series. Nana is pretty in a modern way hope to see her in a modern romance soon.

Excuse me. I wonder why there are no comments on this. Isn't this film an exact copy of the ingenious Spanish film contratiempo from 2016? Plot is the same. The rich married guy with the mistress. On a "secret" weekend with her. They accidentally kill someone in their car returning home. She was driving. He wanted to call the police. She didn't. They split up. He was initially accused but manages to come clean. He is only in need of a good lawyer. The lawyer appears in the right time to save him but she's not who she pretends to be. Exactly the same. I love Korean movies but come on. Why? We know the story.

South Korean cinema, still one of my favourite countries when it's about movies. Not an easy language to follow a story though but at least Korean actors don't overact like most other Asian actors do in other Asian countries. It's also difficult to remember the names of those good Korean actors. So Ji-sub I know from another good movie, Alienoid, and another lesser good movie The Battleship Island. Yujin Kim is mostly known for her role as Sun in the immensely popular series Lost. So both lead actors know how to act and in Jabaek (or Confession for the English title) they both did another good job. Nice twists and turns in this enjoyable story to watch. I see some reviewers rated this movie with the lowest score possible. I can only say I feel sorry for them. So this was the worst movie they ever watched then (to me a 1 rated movie belongs in the worst movies I ever watched). I really wonder which movies they rate the maximum, must be almost impossible to find for them. It just annoys me, these kind of unfair reviewers, even though everyone is entitled to their opinion. That said, if you like me enjoy South Korean cinema give this one a shot, you won't be disappointed.

The story of a posh man being accused of murder, who vehemently is claiming his innocence by stating the presence of a third party. The entire story unravels in a cabin in the woods, with his prospective defence attorney, to whom the man states that it keeps the press away, as it has caught national attention. The story goes into flashbacks as the prospective defense attorney starts questioning the man about the true series of events. It follows with infidelity, a tragic accident, blackmailing, revenge, murder, manipulation and the pursuit of justice. Viewers can expect a well written script that is played out brilliantly with creativity and plot twists throughout the movie, that would leave everyone at the edge of their seats. The ending was just fantastic. Just when the actual perpetrator believes that everything is done, here come the final plot twist. Touché 👏👏👏. You will not be disappointed. I would give this movie a 9.5/10 but unfortunately, there are no half stars so 9/10 for imdb rating.
