Human Capital

People don't like being lied to, but the movie is not that bad. The large amount of initial fake up voting has come back to hit this one in the head, reaping a harvest of dissatisfied low voters. That being said, the film is very watchable with a level of political correctness and snowflake character insertions, not too difficult to overcome. Like most this is by no means great, but then quoting other critics is not a review. There's a lot of that going on here by those who have nothing to say. The only ones raging against that are the millenials and snowflakes who probably feel misrepresented by some of the characters who are them. Liev Schreiber is not Ray Donovan here, and no one should expect him to be; Marisa Tomei plays her part just fine, as does Peter Sarsgaard who has always been very consistent in my view. There's seems to be a growing mob of millenials who've discovered this site in recent years, whose depth and knowledge of cinema is almost non-existent. They know how they feel and sometimes even what they want, but not much else. Both the film and the characters in it are fractured, portraying people who are broken self absorbed and a bit lost. Not in some deep meaningful way, but in the shallow selfish amoral way that our society has become. The series Succession and recently Mare of Easttown, are very much that same way. Where people lack both identity and loyalty as well as the sense of community that used to undergird most of society. Much of the dialog is that of the insider where you are expected to know, so you'll have to pay attention to find meaning. The Counselor was misunderstood and disliked for the same reasons. Cold distant detached people living for themselves in their own little wreckage of something that used to be made up of caring and giving with just a little bit of respect. Crash was like that, so was Heat, just earlier versions. Though this is not as good as either of those films, especially Heat. The problem a lot of youngster reviewers have with it is that it does not resolve anything, it just shows you the problems but it does not answer. Only God can do that, but no one wants to hear it. How could such a wonderful cast get duped into making such a mainstream hipster piece of garbage. stop trying to appeal to political ideology and make a movie without checking off cultural points. Millennials are killing people literally and figuratively now!!!

Don't bother.....this film is purely time waster! Pity the quality casts. Lesson? Never remake a story unless you have anything extra to add to it.

Good grief...can we stop with the fake reviews? This is currently a 8.1 on IMDB. There is no logical way anyone could possibly think this was even a 4 Star movie... Completely boring, no climaxes, just blahhhhhh the entire time. It's like watching kids go around on a merry go round. Just blahhhh all the way around while the little children or mentally incapacitated go weeee! I wouldn't watch this again if you paid me $500.00

Its sooo baaad.. Holy molly this movie is pointless bad story bad lines story. With bad acting..

It's interesting to me that as much as it is dealing with such important matters for young adults, I'm not sure I would want my young adult to see it because it might emphasize to them that this is the norm and acceptable even if it is, it's not what we really want for them. Marisa Tomei was absolutely amazing as always. It's so interesting for me to see her acting having spent quite a bit a time with her in real life and knowing how incredibly down to earth and funny and just one of the girls she is in person and when you see her on the screen she's kind of awe inspiring. She really pulls off this role as the powerful matriarch of the power family. Maya Hawke blew me away. I looked at her performance and with no idea who she was I thought, "here is an up and comer. She is really good." I wasn't surprise to learn of her lineage and remember meeting her with her Mom when she was a baby. It is really nice to see she has grown up to be so talented. As the mother of two young adults and a financial advisor, this movie was right up my alley. Every turn made sense as did the outcome.

This movie is pointless. Ffs i don't even know why i wasted my time.

The film has its stars, it has its story, but its made on a balanced budget and have no real climaxes. its a film told in a retrospective way, but its a smooth in its progress that it makes it become too repetitive for , so it doesnt get the badge for the best film of the year. its all a question about who drove that car... the grumpy old man knows, but will i recommend it... if you like traffic or that kinda genre, youll love this flick , i did not

This has to be the dumbest movie I have ever seen!

I watched this entire movie with great anticipation waiting for a storyline to emerge, Unfortunately, by the end of the movie, I was trying to figure out how it could possibly get such a high rating. I found nothing interesting about the storyline because it was way too fragmented with too many characters with their own boring stories to tell. By the end of the film, I was very confused about what the exact point it was trying to tell. I wished I hadn't wasted so much of my time watching it.
