This movie is a prime example of the flawed ratings that IMDb is now subjecting us horror movie lovers to. I know a 5.6 rating isn't very high. But a 5.6 for a horror movie on this site usually means the movie is somewhat decent. This movie IS NOT one of those movies. It is VERY boring, the protagonist is very annoying with her very stupid decision making. The script is flawed beyond repair. The only thing about this movie that is OK is Brittany Allen. She plays out her role to the best of her ability with what she was given. That's pretty much the only reason i gave this movie 4 stars. I just don't see how these reviews are honest. I love indie horror flicks, even some bad ones are still decent. But this one is just terrible. Only reason i even gave it a chance was because of the rating from this site and the now obvious fake reviews. Bottom line... Stay away from this movie, help bring this rating down to where it should be. The only honest reviews are the ones posted on the last page. Do not fall victim to the BS.

The premise sounds totally befitting a short film with a minimalist perspective. During the onset of a zombie apocalypse, circumstances force a young woman to take up a 50 mile journey by foot, while being relentlessly stalked by a slow-moving zombie. There are a few bad decisions taken in the first 15 minutes (like not bashing the zombie's head with the first large piece of rock on sight), but the movie, written and directed by Colin Minihan, has a few surprises in store for the discerning viewer. A one-sided conversation ensues between Molly and the zombie (nick-named Smalls) where she details her past life, her relationship with her four year old son Chase, and her opinion on the men she has known. A couple of jump- scares aside, the movie doesn't stick to its subjugated zombie- horror roots and relies more on the rapport between the woman and the flesh- craving spook. The film peaks during the scene where the zombie inadvertently comes to the rescue of the woman when she's held captive. This is followed by another where she is able to control the zombie's advances. In a never-before-seen scenario, the woman seeks to find closure for herself and her 'fellow-zombie' who she considers to be an unlikely friend. However, the final 20 minutes (especially the scene with the army- men) didn't show signs of neat execution. This portion is stretched with plenty of scenes uncalled for (the writer seems to have run out of ideas), and a climax that bestows itself in familiar zombie-movie territory. The director seemingly wanted to shift from the minimalist approach to a full- blown action thriller in the end. By doing so, the film ends up on a rather unsatisfying note. Nonetheless, if you're looking for a diversion from the usual zombie films, 'It Stains the Sands Red' will fairly excite you. Verdict: Fresh in parts!

A few times this title passed me on the net and now that it is available it was time to pick it up. It's not going to be a flick for everyone because it do contains zombies but it's not all about the zombie(s). In fact it's between the relationship between a human and a zombie following her closely. A bit of a zombie Stockholm syndrome. The flick itself starts off rather in a gory way and I thought that it was going to be a gory flick. In some ways it is but on the other hand it only happens when a zombie do attack. That is of course normal but as stated, it's not all about the zombies attacking. Due the fact that there is some kind of friendship starting between the two (hulan and zombie) you will have some funny situations, maybe it wasn't intended but I did had a smile here and there. Is it all that good, the effects are really well done and are above mediocre and the acting is also okay but the script do has it flows. There are a lot of situations that you think, hub, what do happens now or why do one react that way. Still, if you are into zombies it's a must see, it'do has it gore but it's never scary. It fits perfectly in the horror genre but I can understand that some will turn it off due plot holes and the story itself. Gore 2/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 3/5 Story 2,5/5 Comedy 0,5/5

lets be honest, no matter how naive one can be, you can not deny the lack of effort in acting part. I would like to say that it is not that the actors didn't know how to act, it is more that everything else in the movie from script to production actually let them down. besides there is no real story-line. the whole project is an armature attempt in film making. with all the great location at their disposal cinematography still did not meet its potential, even though that was the only aspect of the whole movie worth complementing. to put it in short words there are more negative than positive.

"It Stains the Sands Red" (2017) is a pretty decent zombie film; I'd rate it an 8 out of 10. The fun starts with a truly impressive aerial shot of Las Vegas in the midst of a full blown zombie apocalypse — it's great special effects work, and it's almost enough to compensate entirely for the limited scope of the story that follows it. (This film focuses largely on one stranded woman being pursued by one zombie antagonist through the Nevada desert.) Although much of the film might be too slow for some horror fans, it's actually surprisingly intelligent. The movie focuses on things often neglected in survival horror scenarios like this one — factors like exhaustion, the elements, firearms proficiency, the availability of basic utilities and even the availability of addictive drugs. There's more to admire too — there's a plot twist late in the game that I thought was skillfully executed. (I won't spoil it here.) Finally, our ostensibly addle-brained anti-heroine does a couple of things that I never would have thought of in order to survive. It also boasts an incongruously beautiful setting. (This was shot in Nevada's "Valley of Fire.") "It Stains the Sands Red" isn't perfect. There are a couple of stupid parts, particularly near the end of the story. (Were these otherwise talented screenwriters just running out of steam?) And there is one surprise plot development that will be sure to have some genre fans rolling their eyes and groaning. Also, the makeup effects for the monster were good enough, but not stellar. (Like many longtime fans of zombie horror, I think I've been spoiled by the genius of Greg Nicotero and Tom Savini.) I 'd still name this as a good move, however, and I'd recommend it.

I have never seen such a ridiculous movie, not only was the girl an terrible actress but the whole story of the movie was pathetic as had numerous times to kill one zombie and didn't and I'm only half way through the movie right now but don't watch it will be an hour and half of your life you will never get back.
