What an amazing film this is. I loved every minute of it. There is nothing wrong about this movie. The plot , directing , acting are all top notch. This keeps you on edge of your seat and you know this is a real life story. It is a fact , not a fiction . This is as exciting as the german movie.balloon. In order to understand this movie , it would also helped if you watched another chilean moive NO. I am one hundred percent amazed by chilean political movies. Such as NO and MACHUCA. If ARGO wins an oscar , movies like this deserves the same level , in my humble opinion. Argo is also great film but this one as well , is all i am saying.

A victory against fascism !!! One of the best films of Chilean cinema that talks about the dark era of Pinochet's dictatorship. The great escape of the fighters of democracy against the torturers of the dictatorship !!!

It is true that at the production level, in contrast to the Chilean standard, this film offers and goes much further, that it really feels like a production for theaters, and that is valued. But let's not get too high either, since at the level of the script and performances (and dialogues, which are suitably regrettable very often), it is quite modest, tending to insufficiency. It is rightly a Hollywood product made in Chile; entertains and offers good audiovisual experience: yes; but as a cinema, the film is not much (I mean, for those amazed who are asking for it at the Oscar; although considering the deplorable course of the Oscars in recent years, it actually wouldn't be that weird).

And bite the dust later, because the claustrophobia reall took hold on me. its a jailbreakdrama, folloming the generics og the genre, and i suppose it has to be so, because everybody knows what happens and therefore nothing really new for others to copy. its sweat and there a stamina, like a workoutscheme toward the olympic games, the actors do a fine job and some of the filmographic standards are pretty high. not too steady editing, but with music that gives the real feel, and a plot that i think filled the playtime very sufficently. well, a prison made of bricks cant block real daredevils , and a low staff numvber its even more defensless, so with patience my friend everything goes well. an ok film...

An amazing movie which tells with creative resources and an attractive language a very strong real story. It should be watched for everyone who wants to have a very stimulating experience.

It's very rare that a newb filmmaker hits the mark, especially when wearing the writer, director, editor and producer hats. But Chilean filmmaker David Albala hit it out of the ballpark. This is his first full length feature film, with less than a handful of shorts and docs, and imo, he did better than films I've seen lately from seasoned filmmakers. The cinematography, camera angles and score were outstanding. Using only a prison location for most of the setting, it was utilized and shot perfectly. The casting was excellent, with convincing performances. Even the clothes, hair and mustaches were on point with the era. The pacing was decent for the 135 min runtime, but it could've used a pick-up in some acts and/or the runtime cut down 15-20 mins. Otherwise, an excellently assembled presentation inspired by real events. The newspaper covers during the ending credits was a great decision - you will laugh at one of them. Great movie with great performances and an image that does not seem like it was a Chilean movie, very good music, and although they are actors that we have seen many times in Chilean cinema, they provide very good performances, good script that in this country is looked at less, in my opinion the best Chilean movie I've seen, without taking merit from machuca Thanks criticas qls for the recommendation

A very good Chilean film about the true story of a mass escape of political prisoners during the Pinochet dictatorship. Well interpreted and directed, I vibrated in front of this account of escape particularly long and difficult to realize thanks to the efforts and the solidarity of these comrades, in front of the rubbish of bureaucrats and torturers of the dictatorship.

A Chilean drama based on real events. Quality. Hard. Entertaining The time spectacularly recreated. Performances at the level but nothing relevant. Is a thought more dangerous than a real crime? This movie explores pretty well what happens to people who rise up against governments. In fact it uses the formula of "The night of 12 years" The only problem at times is the language that gets run over. Talk about corruption and what happens to those who try to rise up against the government.
