Historic Savannah GA is a fantabulous backdrop for this cute movie. Founded in 1733, it holds a lot of Southern charm, and the acting "ain't bad either."

MissM19 says it all!! I couldn't agree more. I kept putting off watching this one as I feared it would be very cliched but how wrong could I have been. It was one of the better Hallmark movies without any of the cliches!! Michael Rady is such a good actor it's always a delight to watch the films he's in but this one bounced along believably with great acting from everyone. The children seemed genuinely friends and the positive energy surrounding everyone was refreshing. It was also enjoyable to see the ex-husband so comfortable with the relationship and Rady's girlfriend was a happy, well-rounded character too. The premise of sharing the fostering of the dog seemed a little ridiculous and an obvious ploy to bring them together but the way it unfolded made the movie really enjoyable to watch.

Fun acting, but there's nothing special about this HM movie. As is often the case, the writers underuse the dog, pretty much relegating him as a plot. They need to add personality to animals more and make them characters rather than props, otherwise it's nothing like having a canine companion in real life. This movie is really more about school and work, so they should have focused on those, rather than cramming the dog in too and not really exploring anything properly.

'Love to the Rescue's' concept appealed to me right away. It sounded very cute and heartfelt. Plus while Nikki DeLoach and Michael Rady are hit and miss when it comes to their filmographies (particularly Rady, but he has nearly always been one of the redeeming merits), both are always worth watching and are two of Hallmark's best and most consistent regulars. Hallmark's overall output is not to be immediately dismissed as they did do a lot of surprisingly good films. 2019 was a variable year for them, but there were again good ones. One of the good ones is 'Love to the Rescue'. It is one of the best 2019 Hallmark films overall and definitely among the best 2019 Spring Fever films. Perhaps even the best, or at least a strong contender, being one of the few where the concept was immediately appealing while others left me mixed or iffy. 'Love to the Rescue' does both leads justice and corrects most of the flaws that Hallmark are prone to having and frequently committ. Beginning with the very few things that didn't quite come off, 'Love to the Rescue' to me did lost momentum in the final act, where the conflict lacked tension and the pace slowed. Am going to agree that the ending was on the lame side, very anti-climactic and didn't make me feel that much. However, both DeLoach and Rady are great. Both look completely at ease and are charming and have charisma that is subtle and perky. Also loved that their characters developed realistically and were ones with flaws and strengths. Instead of the "too perfect too early" or "over the top negative character traits throughout most of the film until a sudden 180" seen too many times over the years of watching Hallmark films (and Lifetime). Their chemistry is genuine and very endearing. The children are adorable and also surprisingly mature, they are not over-cute and they aren't annoying. And who can't help love the dog. It is a good looking film, especially the scenery. Something that Hallmark often delivered on, even in their misfires. The music isn't over-scored or too constant. The script isn't awkward and has genuinely amusing comedic moments and very sweet and touching dramatic ones while keeping sentimentality at bay. The story is not innovative but clearly knew exactly what it wanted to be and do, and has lightness, warmth and charm. Overall, very nicely done. 8/10.

The plot wasn't bad though I have to say I don't care much for the animal themed stories. What a backdrop though --for the good acting--in the city of Savannah. And And from what I read it was shot in January! It didn't look like winter at all. As for the teen girl with the prominent ears. Wowza.

Incredible movie, really great chemistry between and Michael, they are great together in every film I have seen them. They are two of my favorite Hallmark actors, these two never fail to deliver. They are both so good that they cxould probably act opposite a telephone pole and still seem sincere. Zip was adorable and did a great job playing the dog. Type casting? The two kids were very good too. I thought the scene between Eric and Sophie on the bench was really cute, their characters are so much alike. Having Sophie's personality being like Erics- serious and into rules and Owens personality being like Kates - fun-loving and free- spirited, was so cute, loved it. It was so nice to see a divorced couple who could remain friends and not fight about every little thing. Liam encourages Kate to pursue the relationship with Eric by saying that she should do what makes her happy, and that he doesn't have many more of those speeches in him, shows that even though they are divorced he still wants what is best for her. The Kate / Liam relationship not being acrimonious was so refreshing , kudos Hallmark. It's not a Christmas movie so there were no Hallmark staple Christmas traditions. Such a good movie I have watched it several times, it never gets boring.

I wanted to like it, and I wanted the dog's presence to be more prominent in the story. The dog idea seemed more like a plot tool - and a forced one at that. The premise of sharing custody of a shelter dog is very unrealistic. Hallmark has had multitudes of characters fight over dogs and Christmas trees, and somehow they're always able to choose - except this one time?! I don't enjoy watching Nikki DeLoach. She doesn't come across as natural or Hallmark-cute to me. Also, as others have commented, she always appears older than the male leads. But I went ahead with watching the movie because I wanted to see how the dog story would go. I liked the male lead. He's handsome, and his character was believable. I felt like there were too many times when the script had to explicitly describe the characters' personalities to the audience. I think their personalities could have been developed more onscreen/visually. Or maybe if the actors had been more suited to their roles, it would have been more obvious to the audience. And, as a word enthusiast, there was one line (one missed opportunity for a good line) that completely gave away how poorly this script was written. At the end, the male lead said, "Do you mean that dinner (or a first date) wouldn't be the end of the world?" And she says, "In fact, it would be...nice." *face palm* Why didn't she say, "it would be a beginning"?! What a missed opportunity! Especially considering the final scene that shows they did get married, so that moment after the awards show WAS the beginning of the rest of their lives!

Nikki DeLoach is one of my Hallmark favourites, but she had some movies that I didn't like so I didn't expect to like this one. As I was watching this movie, I came to love the characters, including Liam and Bianca. The officemates, the members of the PTA, the obedience school people and fur babies... The kids are adorable, and of course, Bruce is a charmer. The story may or may not be perfect, but it is enjoyable from start to finish. I love Ms. DeLoach's chemistry with Mr. Rady, and the story, like what most of the reviewers here said, is not your usual Hallmark Rom-Com. I would surely would love to see a wide screen version of this one with the same cast. Is that even possible? Well, if it isn't I hope more people would get to see this made for TV movie. I think even guys would like this one. It is very relatable, and the actors are very convincing. Anyway, these are just my feelings. I do not know if they would be helpful or not, but I just wanted to share how I felt after watching this movie. Thanks for your time.
