The story here is quite rudimentary; calling it bizarre or far-fetched would not be an exaggeration, but the way it's been told and the manner in which its eccentricities are presented, or rather, celebrated, is a treat to watch. I was entertained for the whole duration; not once was I driven to distraction or felt an urge to look away from my television, a testimony to its engrossing narration and impressive screenwriting. Don't worry, I didn't forget the performances; it would be a crime not to say a few words for them. First of all, I want to say, What fantastic casting! Each member of the ensemble played their part with lots of passion and commitment. Nimra Bucha plays the antagonist, and she does an excellent job. So it was with Ritu Arya as Lena, who plays the gullible but fierce elder sister with grace. Then there's Priya Kansara, the undisputed star of the show. What an astonishing act! Priya commanded every frame she popped up in, and she did so with grace and elegance; it is one of my favourite performances of this year so far. I sense the makings of a cult classic.

A current film in release. When a struggling Indian daughter in England, Priya Kansara, can't quite conquer that finishing move in her karate class (a spinning kick of sorts), she feels her chances of becoming a successful stuntwoman may not be in the cards. Enter her slacker (once artist) sis, played by Rita Aryu (intro'd eating a full chicken she sees in a Chinese takeout shop's window) who after meeting a potential beau (in an arranged setting) Akshay Khanna, soon ditches her wayward ways, gets cleaned up & readies herself for some upcoming nuptials. Kansara suspects Khanna & his mom, Nimra Bucha (recently seen as a villain on Ms. Marvel) are up to no good & enlists her pals, Seraphina Beh & Ella Bruccoleri, to convince Aryu otherwise (even mounting a last minute forceful intervention) before the nuptial deed is done. Pinging back & forth like a whirling dervish, much like its lead, the film becomes exhaustive as everything is thrown against the cinematic walls, hoping something meaningful will stick but for me, nothing did leaving me tuckered out from such splashes of tones & meanings. A little less would've gone a long way.

Absolutely tediously embarrassing childish nonsense. I tried so terribly hard to enjoy this, worked through every tedious minute to find something, anything that could be considered redeeming. Perhaps the costume was worthy. It really didn't deserve my money or time, amateur poorly scripted filmed acted made nonsense. So thin in every aspect. Just really rubbish. Bend it like Beckham comparisons probably the most optimistic view point. Just a shockingly weak effort. The nonsense martial arts move that seemed to be the crux of the entire movie that no wonder is pulled of in the last scene ( what a suprise ) the ludicrous nature of this summed up the crass nonsense of this time wasting flic.

A semi dark comedy of the about two Indian sisters, one who attempts to so save her sister from being wedded to a Pakastini doctor who's needs the perfect uterus to clone his mother who lost out on enjoying her youth by marrying young so that she can be rebirthed thru the sister to start her life over. Ok I get it, it's a decent premise and original but why does everything foreign has to look and sound so everything American and carbon copy? The English accents the culture India, the dialogue American, fight scenes were karate kid-ish and but the score really decent. Overall foreign films have been Americanized and you really can't tell some of these films apart because they all share the same protagonist. This was just a one time watch. RIP authencity....you truly are missed.

A future beckons as a stuntwoman on the screen, you practice hard, you are determined and you're mean, enter stage left, an adversary, distracts your focus as he'll marry, your sister Lena, this is something unforeseen; as she had planned to be an artist and be free, an independent minded woman without decree, now Salim has left his mark, plus there's a feisty matriarch, stands in the way of the great futures, that could be; so you hatch a plan to sabotage the pairing, with assistance of two friends and lots of daring, making discoveries that alarm, that make you struggle to be calm, most of the time you feel especially despairing. Priya Kansara is outstanding as Ria as she attempts to scupper her sisters marital arrangement.

This movie is a hilarious story of sisterly love and roundhouse kicks. It represents many of the things I love- female friendship, martial arts and fast focus pulls for jokes. I love the friend characters and wild tone. I found that our main character Rhea took a few too many hits for my liking - I would prefer she punch more. But the acting and especially the SOUND DESIGN made this a laugh out loud flick. I love it to death. They use jokes about period and heavy flows, but the film deals with using women's bodies as vessels and as tools of power. While Rhea is perusing a life as a stuntwoman, pushing her body as a tool of violence, her sister is being perused as a vessel for a clone! The twist was fun, the acting sold it and the fast cuts remind me a lot of Sean of the Dead. Would watch again.

I think this was a great movie. I loved the format of dividing the movie into chapters. It really helped with the movie's pacing. Another very interesting part was how they incorporated a horror-esque feel into some of the scenes. It was done really well and gave to movie a lot of flavour. It would be a crime to name the good things about this movie and not talk about the fight scenes. The fight scenes were incredibly realistic and dynamic. It really felt like I was watching a teen girl fighting. The cinematic shots during the scenes were beautiful. The scene where Ria fights Salim's mother and her skirt is flowing creates some magical shots. Overall, the movie was extremely well made and paced. It never failed to hold the audience's attention. It blended genres like horror, comedy, and action into one big smoothie of cinematic joy.

An exceptional disappointment in this era of fabulous female lead movies. The stage was set for it to succeed and yet it was nothing short of utterly stupid... We left the movie early, as did others in the cinema. If it wasnt hard enough to leave, I now have to find 600 characters to describe why I left. Basic recipe for the movie is this: Find a stereotype. Add some miscast characters who are directed to over act. Add utter trite for dialogue. Create a mirage of humour, which falls flat 99% of the movie. Subtract entertainment and thought provocation. Add an experiment: multiple random strangers unconnected with each other write a segment of the movie each, and stitch this together as one film. And there you have it.
