On the plus side this movie changed the "women always say no " cliche that is popular in movies like this. In the beginning when they were eating diner Kara actually ordered something when asked what she wanted (Hollywood seems to think women go to restaurants and don't eat or drink anything) But it quickly went downhill after that. The biggest were k***ing a pet and ONCE AGAIN giving mental illness a poor representation. Oh and the movie was pretty forgettable otherwise. Pass on this one. Much better "bad " lifetime movies to find enjoyable
Karoline (Kara) Spencer still feels the emotional pain of the loss of her parents in a fishing accident. She is now engaged to Tyler and seems to be steady in her life as a counselor at a local church and as a waitress. But Kara's life is disrupted with the arrival of Tyler's ex-girlfriend, Isabelle (Elle) Lloyd, who is determined to win back her man. "Psycho Ex-Girlfriend" (a.k.a., "Twisted") was well performed by the principal actors, especially the actress playing the unfortunate Kara, who must cope with the deranged Elle, the daughter of the local police chief. Through the harassment that she endures, Kara gets no help from the police, and even Tyler proves to be ineffective in preventing his ex from disrupting their marriage plans and getting inside the head of his fiancée. A weakness of the film was in its unpleasantness, especially in the intentional drowning of Kara's beloved cat. Was that act really necessary to demonstrate how devious Elle could be? Another shortcoming was in Tyler's inability to stand up to his boss Frank and insist that Elle stop working as a waitress alongside Kara. At some point, Tyler needed to be decisive. There was a narrative twist in the subplot of Kara and her client Laura, whom she has been counseling at Father Macey's church. Kara allows Laura to move into the trailer owned by her parents, in order to escape an abusive spouse. But there turns out to be a quid pro quo when Laura places an ad that invites strange men to visit her at her home. It was this ad that finally pressured the police, led by the diligent female detective Clemens, to challenge the authoritarian police chief and expose the machinations of Elle. It turned out that the little orphan had some backbone, and she was also very adept at handling herself with a loaded revolver.
The acting was decent. Not sure why they had the twist ending about the main chick Kara being the one who was behind her own harassment just to set up her fiance's seductive ex girlfriend.
Red headed chic was the worst actress ever. Her dialogue sounded like she was playing a Disney villain. Movie was terrible. I would never recommend this movie. Can't get those two hours of my life back. Booooooo.
What does it take to confront a person that is obviously messing with you? That is a question that our main character here has to find out ... find a solution. Which is especially tough to do, when that person only shows their ugly side to you and not to the public as much. Yes twists and turns maybe overall predictable, but I'd say that the movie does have a few fresh punches left for you. That doesn't mean you'll love this, but maybe you at least appreciate it. A neat little thriller, nothing more, nothing less.
Kara Spencer (Elisabeth Harnois) is a therapist working out of a church. Her fiery redhead new client Isabelle (Kimberly-Sue Murray) is actually her boyfriend Tyler (Morgan Kelly)'s crazy ex Elle Lloyd. She's getting married but Elle won't let it go. Despite Elle's relentless attacks, she is protected by her police chief father. There is not enough tension at the beginning. Tyler needs to be already cheating with Elle or he has to be at least be a living, breathing character. He's a complete dud. I see no attraction and I see no reason why these women are fighting over him. The whole thing becomes a dud.
Believe it or not, this was my first LMN movie. I was hooked. The plot of this one left me wondering (and my wife and I discussing after viewing) who actually did what. Elisabeth Harnois amazing- beautiful, sensitive, strong, smart. She demonstrated her versatility throughout the entire film. To me, the other actors were forgettable, but Elisabeth made you care about Kara and made her memorable. One of the few LMN movies I would watch again.
I just love watching movies like this. A happy couple, fully committed to one another has their relationship tested when the guy's psychotic, jealous ex inserts herself in their lives and continuously strives to make the bride-to-be as miserable as humanly possible and tries repeatedly, to get the groom to betray the woman he loves.. The future bride reaches her limit and turns the tables on psychotic ex, whose father is a sheriff, by concocting a pretty clever plan to get her out of their lives for good. When a psycho never gets punished because he/she has a cop willing to cover up their crimes, the only way to be free of them is to kill them. This wasn't just a good plot, all the actors were amazing. Especially the woman who played the ex. Her performance was phenomenal. The only reason I didn't rate more stars is because all Lifetime/"Made for TV movies" are cheesy as hell 1 way or another and that takes away some of the enjoyment for me. I try to avoid them but if the description sounds interesting enough I'll give it a chance. If you love watching crazy b!tches get what they deserve then I recommend but there are much better movies you could be watching.
I am SO SICK of Lifetime using the killing of pets as plot devices. How many times do we need to see a defenseless dog or cat be murdered, so you can show someone is a nutter? It's repetitive NONSENSE, that's UNNECESSARY & PREDICTABLE! Here's a clue, have an animal save the day, be a great companion, offer comfort, etc. and NOT get killed. Get some new material Lifetime, preferably that doesn't encourage animal cruelty.
