So the verneuil are back and for claude and Marie's 40th anniversary together. Their daughters have decided to celebrate and invite the whole family, and by family I mean the parents of the grooms, who with them Claude and Marie are having a hard time to deal with. The third installment of Serial (Bad) Weddings is a fun comedy for everyone to enjoy. It consists of black comedy and doesn't apologize for being courageous in face of Political correctness. Claude and Marie have a hard time dealing with the different cultures and religions that each groom brings to the family, with the third one bringing the parents of the grooms it does bring a lot of humor and entertainment. Sure it would be fun to see how all couples will make it through this event. Family events can always be challenging. The moments I enjoyed the most were the scenes with Claude and Andre Koffi, Christian Clavier and Pascal N'Zonzi are fantastic actors and they deliver an amusing performance over the course of three movies. Overall I really enjoyed the third movie and find it to be promising just like the two others, for those who are a little skeptical about the humor I suggest to watch this film with an open mind. It is amusing as ever.
I've finally finished the whole trilogy, and it didn't fail to make me laugh out loud from the start to finish! Every movie has a different theme, and even though I found getting to know the Verneuil family the funniest at the begging (Qu'est-ce qu'on a tous fait au Bon Dieu 1), the following sequels did not disappoint. We met their extended families-in-law, the children, their cultures and parents. Even through the highs and lows, in the end, you can't help but feel endearment towards Mr and Mrs Verneuil and their life they've built over the 40 years, still living with love and affection. On a side note, I wish there was no replacement of the original actress playing one of the daughters.
I was looking forward for the sequel. Waited almost a year and now this. It's all about the parents who are a mess and there is none of the french charming humor whatsoever. Odile is now another actress and I can't handle it. There is a weird german art collector which is tooo much and over the top! 🙄 The acting quality is low this time. And I hate how much they want to keep up with all the zeitgeist, being woke dilemma but a the same time are sooooo racist. It was funny in part 1 and 2 but now it's embarrassing. Looooooved the first 2, but this one is bad. Not funny just annoying. 💔 I wish I could get my money back.
"Monsieur Claude and his big party" is the third part of Monsieur Claude and his family. Philippe de Chauveron once again directs and Guy Laurent provides the screenplay. The culture clash comedy provides an insight into the everyday lives of families, the small conflicts that arise from family and neighborly closeness and the challenges that a big family celebration brings with it. France's star comedian Christian Clavier embodies the bourgeoisie in his usual excellent role. Outwardly well-behaved and suave, but on the inside narrow-minded and full of prejudices. But still endearing at the same time. But the sons-in-law and their families are also delicious. Pascal N'Zonzi as André Koffi is particularly delightful in his role. The script and staging tend to exaggerate the characters and provide plenty of situation comedy in the many mini-dramas that take place during the course of the plot. The film plays with foibles, deep-seated prejudices and makes it clear that thinking in racial categories is not the privilege of white people. This black comedy does not shy away from political incorrectness and is presented with a light-footedness that makes it a pleasure to watch and laugh at. A sympathetic appeal for international understanding. You can feel the love for the family and it is love that always helps to fulfill family obligations and make compromises. At the end, the movie leaves you with a warm, comforting feeling. ------------- Conclusion: Outstanding - The chaos is perfect again and the happy ending is also guaranteed. A déjà vu effect cannot be denied. You get what you expect. We love it.
First of all I don't understand why this movie has such a bad rating. I love the movie! It is just so funny again to see the all the family members from different origins telling jokes about each other. I literally laughed the whole movie so good was it. For me it's the best out of the 3 movies. If you loved the first two movies or even just one of them this movie is for you. If you are not sure if you should watch this movie because you have only watched the first one, don't worry, I watched the second one after the third one and I understood everything. It's one of the best comedy movies I have ever seen, it's just a Comedy Highlight! Go watch it!
No pun intended - the third movie finally came out. And I got reminded that I never saw the second movie in the now trilogy. I remedied that fact, just to be up to date with all the shenanigans and all that. Of course this adds even more family into the movie. And all things considering it juggles all the characters and themes and stories quite well. You will not see too much of the very little ones. But they are there - and there is only so much story you can tell, so many characters you can actually focus on. You could critisize how the screen time is shared ... I personally think this is close to perfection as it gets. Clever dialog and a lot of humor based on things we know are wrong. Claude still not able to shed his feelings and thoughts ... but he also is someone who is a good husband. I mean no one is perfect, right? The answer is yes and right. Not sure if that will conclude the Ms. Claude story (and that of his daughters and extended family - no pun intended), but if it is, it is quite a good one to go off on.
It's always disappointing when a movie has potential but fails to deliver. In this case, while the plot of the movie may have seemed interesting and even humorous on paper, the execution left much to be desired. The characters were dull, lacking any real depth or complexity that could have made them more relatable and interesting to watch. Instead, they came off as stereotypical and unoriginal, lacking any real depth or nuance. The acting in the film was also a letdown, with performances that felt forced and over-the-top. It seemed like the actors were trying too hard to make their characters work, resulting in exaggerated and unconvincing portrayals. The jokes in the film were also a major disappointment, relying heavily on tired cliches and offensive stereotypes that failed to land with the audience. Some of the attempts at humor even crossed the line into being outright offensive and hurtful, leaving viewers feeling uncomfortable and dismayed. Overall, the movie was a complete waste of time for anyone who was hoping for a fun and entertaining cinematic experience. It's a shame, because with some tweaks and adjustments, there could have been a great film hiding in there somewhere. But unfortunately, the filmmakers missed the mark on nearly every level, resulting in a movie that falls far short of its potential. It's a reminder that even with the best intentions and promising material, a lack of talent and skill can easily derail a project and leave audiences feeling cheated and disappointed.
What a pleasure to find the Verneuil family for a third part just as successful as the previous ones, the plot of this new part is so exciting with these situations to die of laughter, it is too funny from beginning to end (a pleasure of cinema total)
