The animation style at the beginning was really cool to tell the myth behind the curse of the house. It was a really cool way to fill the watches in on the background of the house. The CGI was terrible. The acting was okay, but the scripting could have been better. The story behind everything was pretty cool overall. I think this film is slightly better than average. I enjoyed watching it, but I've seen much better, and I've seen much worse too.

HEY EVERYBODY ITS ME (4) and today we review ..... a film from englandland that isnt complete garbage ? .... miracles really do happen i guess .... now thats not to say this film doesnt have its issues , so lets start with the bad first to get it out of the way #1 its made in england land .... ugh .... secondly the "zombies" make the most irritating sounds NONSTOP!!!!!! Seriously ? ... anymore screeching and i would swear it was just my EX on the screen the whole time .... if you didnt look at the screen you would think this was a group of people being attacked by those flying dinosaurs on helium while they clawed on black boards ........ i mean literally ANY sound other than what they used would have been better .... the sound of my getting hit the face with a brick would have been better than the noise those "zombies "made .......and zombies ? ... i mean they were but kind of not because they were technically animated dead due to the curse right ? .... so .... hmmm not sure what catagory exactly they fall under so sure "zombie" it is ... now the good .... it was actually pretty well done over all ... a little cheesy but for the british its top notch for a horror film, considering im used to films like "bride of scarecrow" and " tooth fairy: queen of pain" from over there this is a diamond .....had a story arch with the mains, had some "twists" in there so i mean writting wise they tried, the FX were not the worst and certainly NOT the worst ive seen from the tea and crumpet people .....and the gore FX at the very end was solid ........ however i do want to point out the end ...lol.... so ...spoiler maybe ? .... if they have to protect the property and NOT let the banks get it or sell it etc .... or the zombies pop up why not just let that happen ? ... i mean ... let it be the corporations problem then lol... let them deal with the garbage problem solved for you ....... so over all ... imma give it a 4/10 .....better than average for a horror film coming form the UK , good job.

The Guardians, they come for the descendants of the Evil Tyrant King. The curse is strong!!!! Okay bad story. Acting okay. Nothing gory really except one shotgunned head. Just not very good. 3/10.

A zombie movie doesn't need a good story, but this one is pretty decent. The acting was believable and the location was fitting. The only thing wrong was that there wasn't enough excitement. So I would say It's worth watching, but don't expect anything great. The story segues along at the end to imply that this is only the beginning. Although movie was a bit weak, I see potential if they could de a better job on a sequel (at this point, I probably got some gasps from other less impressed reviewers). I gave it a 5 because I'm glad I saw it but probably won't see it again though.

The tagline to this film is "Don't wake the dead." Well, I want to know who did? I'm going to kick their ass. I don't like these zombies. I don't like these actors. I don't like green eggs and ham.

My title says it all I barely watched 30 minutes just absolutely unwatchable . Now that's all I have to say about that. Actors You will not care about or be able to follow and a convoluted story line . Bad production values a waste of time.

Everything about this movie was slow. Great premise, probably sounded good on paper, but execution missed the mark. Main lead female was at last likable, for me. The white guy played his part of racist prick well, making you hope he dies. Other female I kept forgetting she was there. If you need a nap, turn this on.

I must admit that I was lured in by this 2020 movie's cover/poster. Sure, I hadn't even heard about the movie prior to sitting down to watch it. But the cover/poster had an appeal to it, and since it was a new horror movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I gave it a chance. And while I managed to sit through the entire movie, right up to the disappointing ending, I have to admit that I was far from being anything even remotely close to entertained by the storyline told in "The Curse of Hobbes House". The storyline and plot, as written by Wolf-Peter Arand and Juliane Block, just didn't offer anything interesting really. Everything in the movie had been done in other older movies, and done to a far better and more satisfactory result, I might add. So that left "The Curse of Hobbes House" as rather boring and uneventful movie. The acting in the movie was adequate, although you shouldn't go about hoping for some grand Shakespearian performances here, as the script and dialogue just doesn't have that value to it. For a horror movie then "The Curse of Hobbes House" was just unfathomably devoid of anything remotely scary. And truth be told, then fast, agile and nimble zombies with glowing blue light orbs for eyes just didn't cut it. It was more laughable than it was scary. It most certainly didn't do the trick for me. While I managed to endure the movie to the bitter end, this is without the shadow of a doubt not a movie that I will ever return to watch again. Nor is it a movie that I can recommend that you spend your time, money or effort on. My rating of "The Curse of Hobbes House" settles on a generous three out of ten stars.

That i was extremely tired and slumbering in and out of the green gables each time the living dead came screaming... so my review may have some flaws due to that.thats the hindside of numerous films watched in a row.. its a zombie movie instead of ''ghosts'' as you may expect from a british production. the story may bait some nostalgics, cause it aint bad, the narrative makes sense, and the acting aint too awful. i bet there will be made a number 2 and 3 and 4 because its an ancestral guardianship of the manor that will doom generations to come. is it a film worth seeing, well as a sleep killer i can recommend , the acting aint more than average, and 95 % of the playtime is in darkness, so sit in a dark room when viewed. the grumpy old man did find this as a positive gain of english moviemaking on low budget, and therefore a small recommend

The first few minutes uses animation to explain the curse going back to the middle ages or Middle Earth. The Dormant descendants will guard the house in both life and death. Jane and Jennifer Dormant inherit the house and discover zombie ancestors are trying to kill them. This is like a zombie film, but slow moving. There is a lot of family drama without really good explanation. Starts out with potential but quickly fizzles after the first near reading of the will. Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
