Good movie!
This movie is not horrible but a bit lack luster and slow at moments. I'm not going to complain about the political/ racial aspect because it's a movie. And as often as POC have been cast as savages and criminals I feel no qualms with this dynamic. I could see people's issue if America's past was just.
This movie was so ridiculous. Greg was so "smart" yet obviously he didn't know to strategize to stay alive. I would never ask someone for shelter then be so snarky and rude. Then cause emotional unrest in the home with the pregnant gf. The writers and directors should be ashamed. Winter wasn't a bad guy. He was traumatized and a little strange but he wasn't evil. What happened in the end wasn't fair and I would've kicked Greg out too (not the kid). Speaking of the kid, after the first time going in the pantry, they should have made sure he never went down there again. Sheesh at least know how to play the damn game, read the 48 laws of power or something!
I don't understand the terrible reviews. Must be people who hate seeing black people succeed I guess. When will racism be a thing of the past I wonder smh. The actors and actresses were amazing!!!
I watched the movie because I was truly interested and didn't care about those bad reviews. I'm so glad I did. It was suspenseful and entertaining. The acting was very good and so was the plot. I got a chuckle out of the racist comments, the whining and need to feel superior by calling the movie trash, worst ever and full of bad acting because they didn't like how the owner of the bunker was portrayed. Let's just say, Hollywood and society has spoiled the people for many years who believe they're the only ones who can be the good guys opposite black characters.
Sometime in the future a financial crash causes a breakdown in society. A family take shelter with their neighbours who live in an underground bunker. I actually enjoyed this film. There were no slow bits. It had a good pace. The story was a little different. There was tension and action. The only main criticism is the ending. It seemed rushed and didn't really seem to fit with the film. Just watch the film for entertainment rather than thinking too much about it.
Not a perfect movie but a superbly acted one with a fascinating and well-developed plot. Lots of unforeseen expansions on the basic premise. Lots of interesting character development. Hard to watch at times but satisfying in the end.
Diversity and screenplay. I watched all the way through yet was disappointed on how the villainized one group of people. Acting was great could have been much better if their was not an internal agenda. Too bad for the director, could have been a great movie otherwise. Stars were only for the great acting portrayed by all the actors.
Listen, are the comments full or racists or what?! This was a great movie. I am floored that it got a 3.8... Because it did NOT deserve it!! I seriously don't have time to write why you should watch... But please watch this movie because the bad reviews are a LIE! Omg! The acting was very good... The story had some irrational aspects, but it's a really good story with very few cliches and more logic than ever... considering it's smaller budget. Please don't believe these horrible reviews! Watch this film!
Despite the cool premise - the complete collapse of America and our financial institutions leading to Martial Law - it doesn't take five minutes to realize nothing can save this disaster of a film. Absolutely ridiculous plot, to the point of insulting anyone who tries to watch it. While the entire country is in collapse, these idiotic characters drink wine, make jokes, complain about their lives and their neighbors. No depth to any of the characters and ridiculous stereotypes. One of the worst films I've ever seen. Granted we're in a Pandemic, but why is it all we get out of Hollywood these days are remakes of remakes, superhero films and trash like this?!!! Really, Epix, this is the best you can do?!!!
