Good movie!
Firstly, it's entertaining. This is the type of movie to be enjoyed with a cold drink, while having company over. This movie is light and unpretentious, although it does contain a few plot twists. Regarding the bad reviews... I think the problem with this type of movie is that the superhuman movie market is almost tapped out and highly demanding. The strategy game could've been explained better. They hinted at it, but with 10 minutes more, I think it could've been a much more memorable movie. The prison setting was interesting. The social implications of a portion of the population gaining superpowers was explained briefly, but they could've lingered more there.
I've watched this movie a few times!! Seeing something different each time. Bruce as a Hannibal lecter...was good. I think there might be a shift change before the ending. Love it!!
No pun intended - one could argue that the corrective measures were not taken or did not work at all. That being said, the movie starts off mighty fine to say the least. The opening action scene is quite something - especially for a movie with a low budget. Bruce Willis - we now know that he has issues or rather an illness. Not sure if he knew it and that is why he made a lot of movies. One thing is for sure - he has fun with his shooting days (or day?). But apart from him it is Michael Rooker that shines through. Actually an interaction between those two made me chuckle. There is something here - story wise and it could have been more ... maybe the issue is with the script, maybe because they didn't have time to shoot everything ... or too much. But it feels off and not in a good way. Still there are certain merits to the movie - it looks good, has decent action and the actors do their best ... also crazy characters to say the least.

Firstly - the low ratings are undeserved, so much so I had to write my own review. Secondly - this is schlocky, self-aware cinema, and those viewers that don't appreciate B-movies should look elsewhere. Yes, the CGI effects are lacking in parts by today's standards and the sets are modest, but otherwise this film is great fun. All the acting and the dialogue are top-draw (there are a few moments that had me in stitches), as are the prosthetics, camera work and post-production. And we get Willis as well as Rooker too! Personally, I would've amped up the violence and gore a bit, but a budget is finite and a lower rating has a larger audience. According to iMDb this is O'Reilly's first foray into directing live-action (although he has produced a few films) - I look forward to seeing more.
I cannot believe how bad this movie was. A real disaster on all levels. It is like one tried hard and succeeded to not have anything good in a movie.
I don't blame the actors for this snore fest. This is 100% the result of poor writing and poor directing. The cast was decent, albeit not outstanding, and there were a few good bits of acting, but the script reads like it was written by a 12 yo who's read a few too many mediocre comic books and fancied himself a scriptwriter. Even the best acting in the world couldn't have saved this movie from its laughably boring plot. I'm pretty disappointed because I really wanted to like this film. Alas, there is just not much to like. I will say this, I don't blame Bruce Willis for his choice to make this movie. Because of his health, he doesn't have a lot of projects left in him, and seeing as everyone is pretty desperate for work these days, you can't blame a guy wanting to get in as many paychecks as possible before being forced to retire. This goes for all the actors who are way better that this film. A paycheck is a paycheck, but it's sadly more like a punishment for the viewer.
When they nothing to do. Its sad to see Bruce Willis going through his mental illness and now these types of movies. If you're looking for a way to suffer through 90 minutes of nothing? You could do worse than this movie. That is the best thing i can say about it.
The movie itself is ok for being low budget. Not great, but not the worst ive ever seen However, the soundtrack is probably the worst I've ever heard on a movie. I get it. Most new music is embarrassing garbage, but these were some of the worst songs I've ever heard. It almost made the movie completely unwatchable and ruined several scenes. Whoever was in charge of the music shouldnt be allowed near film making ever again, and seriously needs to reevaluate their taste in music.
