An excellent Agatha Christie novel of which quite a few good movies over the last 40 years have been made, has been butchered by this latest version. First of all the modern rock guitar play did not exist in 1937, but only came around in 1955. Secondly the plot has been changed for the worse and jazzed up and political color matters were not openly present in that era. Thus this movie is a very poor and unnecessary update of a brilliant novel and becomes a bad interpretation on screen. Kenneth Branagh who did so well making the movie Belfast, also directed this movie and played the role of Poirot. This film unfortunately is a total waste of talent and not easy to follow all the complexities to unravel the plot at all.

Branagh's "Murder on the Orient Express" was crap. Thirty minutes into "Death on the Nile" and I could see that it was going to be just as bad. Opening scenes were pointless but I patiently waited for the meat of the film to begin and it was just as full of silliness as his previous attempt to do a Poirot movie. Perhaps someone should inform Branagh that bizarre doesn't always work, especially if it's not done well.

Holy smokes, the production is very bad on this one, tbh the amount of green screen scenes probably surpasses the number used in The Black Panther, and that's something! Sometimes it's so bad it doesn't even look like a film made in this century. The fake blurry background in quite honestly all scenes that take place outside is really distracting and just looks awful. Cheap production, low-grade acting. Story/writing average at best. Overall pretty bad.

Fairly wooden over-acting with some of the most dreadful accents reminiscent of RDJ in Dolittle. The movie is too long, too slow and actually quite predictable... avoid unless its on tv and you are doing something else at the same time.

Death On The Nile is a rather limp remake of the superior Peter Ustinov version. The movie goes for a more cinematic approach but the CGI is horrendous (especially the snake sequence) and it's a wonder the budget was 120 million. The start of the movie telling the origin of Poirot felt needless and the ending in London felt very tacked on. The best thing to happen to the movie was bumping Gal Gadot off after an hour as she was very unconvincing as always and it felt like she spent more screen testing for an unmade Cleopatra movie than Agatha Christie. The film picks up after the murder and the second hour is more successful than the first but one must wish Kenneth Branagh would adapt a lesser known Christie work than the two he has presented so far.

See the far superior 1978 version instead. Outclasses this version in every way - screenplay, acting, photography. Fun fact from the 1970s: it is possible to shoot a film on location, and not to a green screen with added CGI background.

Not a single shot was done in Egypt or on a real Nile boat. The hotel do not exist. The river is cgi. Well all about this movie is fake. Even Poirot is just not right. Branagh portray him as a clown. Even his french is terrible. If you have seen the great 1978 version, where all is done live at the location in Egypt. With a fantastic cast. Angela Lansbury, Bette Davis , Peter Ustinov, Maggie Smith. Gal Gadot can not Even express the simpleste of feelings. You will just hate this one. Please see the 1978 version. A hundred times better!!!

Murder on the Orient Express it was not . That was an enjoyable movie, not great, but entertaining and well written and excecuted . And of course an excellent cast . This debacle was none of that ; a disjointed screenplay, a cast not worth remembering - an adaption of the novel you certainly do not want to remember . Cringy , forced stereotypical dialogue and characters , poor camera work, editing, and cheap green screen recording for most of the film . To add insult to injury, a diversity cast was forced into the movie, in such a hamfisted fashion, and with such unlikable characters , that ironically it will most likely have the opposite of the desired effect . Avoid - it's boring at best, annoying in many places .
