As Honorary Chair of the Yale Day of Service 2014, former President Bill Clinton '73 JD shares some thoughts on Yale and service.

This is the story of little Angela Irizarry, who was born with a life-threatening congenital heart defect, and the groundbreaking surgical technique developed by Yale pediatric surgeon Dr. Christopher Breuer. Angela was the first patient in the United States to receive a natural tissue-engineered vascular graft, made from her body's own cells, as part of Dr. Breuer's FDA-approved clinical trial. It made her heart complete.

Six members of the faculty were honored with awards for outstanding undergraduate teaching. The recipients were nominated by their students for their awards, and were selected by the Yale College Committee on Teaching, Learning, and Advising. The winners of the 2013 Yale College Faculty Prizes for Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching are: Kathryn Lofton, John Bryan Starr, Tamar S. Gendler, William D. Nordhaus, Deborah Davis, and Eric Dufresne.
