Description

The TV series Norse Mythology, created by an unlisted creator and produced by an unlisted studio, first premiered on February 7, 2017 in an unspecified country. The series spans 0 seasons with 0 episodes, featuring the voices of an unlisted voice cast. It follows the story of Publisher's Summary Introducing an instant classic - master storyteller Neil Gaiman presents a dazzling version of the great Norse myths.  Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people. Gaiman stays true to the myths while vividly reincarnating Odin, the highest of the high, wise, daring, and cunning; Thor, Odin's son, incredibly strong yet not the wisest of gods; and Loki, the son of a giant, a trickster and unsurpassable manipulator. From Gaiman's deft and witty prose emerge the gods with their fiercely competitive natures, their susceptibility to being duped and to duping others, and their tendency to let passion ignite their actions, making these long-ago myths breathe pungent life again.  Supplemental enhancement PDF accompanies the audiobook. Norse mythology is notoriously dark and edgy. Gaiman's retelling is worth a read. This narration, however, misses the mark entirely. The narrator reads through myths like an English fairytale, portraying dramatic confrontations as sing-songy banter. Not a single shred of gritty foreshadowing and dark moral lessons survive. This robs the warrior spirit out of the text, reducing it to the level of any other genre fantasy novel. If you're trying to motivate the spirits of a skeleton crew of hard men to row for their lives back to Denmark through a blue water winter voyage across the North Sea, don't play this to your men.

The book was interesting but didn’t line up wit other Norse mythology books I’ve read.It felt like the author wanted to romantic Loki,s actions and behavior.
