When the NWA approached ECW in regards to holding a tournament to crown a new NWA World Heavyweight Champion on ECW Television, it should have been a time to celebrate. Instead, NWA president Dennis Coralluzzo rubbed everyone the wrong way within Eastern Championship Wrestling, from owner Tod Gordon, Head booker Paul Heyman, all the way to Shane Douglas, the man who the NWA booking committee decided would be the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
