After reading after you, I wasn’t so sure that I would like this book. Meet before you was amazing, but the second book was a little less somehow. I can’t really describe it. However, the pieces of books one and book 2 finally came together in book 3. I honestly loved it. I’m glad I took a chance on the third book.
How much I love Louisa Clarke! I was thoroughly delighted by this third installment of her story!
If you pick up your phone every morning to see what new fresh ugliness has been unleashed in America this book will help. It’s not “literature” but it lifted my spirits. My only criticism:Pugsdon’t bite. If a pug miraculously managed to bite someone they wouldn’t draw blood. Anyway thank you JoJo I’m reading all your books right now. They are my emotional support :)
Yet again, a wonderful story about finding and loving yourself in often a world where that is not the norm.
I love this series so much!I wish there were more. I hope they turn the 2nd and 3rd into movies as well
This was the Louisa I wanted to hear about in book 2 that we didn't really get then. However, this was worth the wait.Very well written, very well narrated.Highs and lows, and even plenty of surprises. Laughs and cries....and while it ends in a HEA, I also feel it ends somewhat open-ended to allow for more.I for one hope so.Bravo!Best of 2018 so far!
I love this series by Jojo, it really draws you you into the characters
This is a beach read at best. You could not have made sense of this book had you not read her previous books on this character -- but to be fair, I would not have picked it up if I did not have some history. The book seemed to drag and I was doing well to finish it.I hope this was the conclusion for this character. Too many mini-plots going different ways -- Loved Mrs. Dewitt and Dean Martin -- a high spot in the book.
My first review was that I couldn’t get past the 11th chapter and quit. It is a slow start and not exciting at all. I went back to it since I was in a place that I could give it 100% attention. There were still many many parts of the book that just wasn’t that great. I hung in there and it started to get better. Lou going back to England for Christmas was eye opening.I also love the way this author made her Mum so so funny. Her relationship with Sam.Good writing there. Then the SURPRISEfrom her NY employers. See, it really got better. The rest of the book was good. Glad I gave it another try.
I have ended up reading all 3 in this series when I was desperate for something to read. Something not too heavy (or situations are dealt with in a way that doesn't want to make me want to open a vein), with a main character I can root for, interesting secondary characters who are fleshed out, complicated life situation...I'm always surprised that I enjoy Moyes' novels. But I guess I should quit being surprised and make her a go-to author when I'm in the mood for this type of book.Audio narrator was quite good. Only a few slips in American pronunciation: anything and penniless. She voiced each character distinctly.
